Q: What's your name and position in the company?
A: Oliver Martin, I'm the business owner and lead front end developer.

A: Local honest professional passionate enthusiastic

Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: To make website design, development, and similar online services, affordable for even the smallest businesses. We truly enjoy making websites Wunderful!

Q: Describe your office environment.
A: Pretty laid back and bustling with talent.

Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: We're a small close not group that like doing a little of everything, working together to meet the requirements of our clients.

Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: We take the time to get to know our clients before we hear what their budget is. So many companies are only interested in seeing the pound symbols and often charge more than is needed. We are open and honest about what we need to change, and make sure the client is offered a fair fixed fee so they don't get a nasty surprise.

Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: We are extremely lucky to have such great clients who promote us through word of mouth. To date we have done little to none in the way of paid advertisement, and we are very proud of this achievement. Keeping things generally local has helped us keep our business growing for a number of years.

Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: Initial consultation over coffee, following up with a mockup and estimate. Then a deposit is taken and work commences. Further meetings and approvals over time, with a final handover and website launch coinciding with a final payment. Pretty laid back but structured well so all involved remain in contact and up to date.

Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Taking the time to actually listen to requirements, and getting to know the person as well as the business. we always take a genuine interest in our clients and their business. Doing so means we make lasting relationships, and learn something new as a result of actually listening to people.

Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: At times things can be tough but as long as you are pro active you can foresee areas of concern and calm things down before they get serious. All our clients have come away happier than they started, so we must be doing something right!

Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Do your research on the business, either by reading reviews and testimonials or by visiting and testing the way the websites they produce actually work. Are their bugs, broken links or any issues viewing on mobile devices? These are really important and a reputable company will not allow this type of thing to happen. Also ask to meet face to face and gauge how they are as people. You have to be able to work with the company and their staff well.

Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: I'd like to expand the business gradually so we can remain focussed on our current clients, whilst taking on new opportunities.

Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: Getting even more fantastic than it already is ;)

Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: Mac

Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: We want to make websites wonderful, so it was a simple case of making the name stand out by changing the O to a U and so Wunderful Designs was born.

Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Ask us lots of questions, demand to know everything it can offer and don't be afraid to play around, break things and play around some more. Knowing your website in and out will allow you to utilise its functionality and potential to the max.
