Being a small charity run by volunteers we needed a web site that not only fulfilled our operating needs but also one that fitted our small budget. Turtlereality came up trumps with a comprehensive site perfectly tailored for our needs. We needed something user friendly and easy to navigate with the flexibility to grow with us. They respond quickly and efficiently to any problems we may have and to any requests to provide 'add ons' and everything is explained in simple easy to understand language. There is no 'sales talk' and often we are contacted with suggestions for improvements which are for our benefit, not theirs.
We have an excellent working relationship with Jon and Lena who we now consider friends rather than business partners.

Turtlereality are a great find, the results exceeded our expectations, with so many web designers to consider, we made the right choice.
Jon and Lena did excellent work and communicated on a regular basis and built up a good working relationship. It is always difficult when you are planning a website, but this really was easy, our initial thoughts where developed, enhanced and created. Being part of the process is important and this was evident throughout, telephone calls where returned promptly and emails had a speedy follow up.
The logo was designed my Jon and his creativity is top-notch, he is very patient and, he was also willing to discuss alternative options and came up with great suggestions.
The final week before the launch Lena and Jon excelled themselves and the transformation from development site to launch was very smooth. As websites are a key marketing tool it was important to get the best design and layout, this we have. An ongoing business relationship is assured and Turtlerality come highly recommended.

Any questions - simple, hard and left field was answered in a timely and simple manner.
I am happy with the outcome and the aspect that I can update as I need to with ease and they are only a phonecall or email away if I need any guidance. The website backend function is great and one less headache to worry about.
I have worked with larger IT groups and the level of service and quality of work can be lacking. This is a personal service and ontime.

Turtlereality truly hit the mark when it came to designing the 'debi bell productions' website.
They are creative, swift and flexible without being overcomplicated.
The essence of their work is beautifully demonstrated in the website. I have had so much positive feedback - much of which loves the sleekness and navigability of the website.
I had to incorporate a lot of video files into the site and this was done with easy consultation and experimentation until we found the right format to suit the nature of the films.
I really cannot rave enough about the Turtlereality team. They turned what potentially could have been a stressful process into a clean professional sweep.
They are great communicators with a lot of creative input who will work with you to achieve your desired result.

Ours is a relatively small project with lots of ideas, turtle reality were very good at downsizing the website proposal to fit our budget and ensuring minimum required functionality.
Website looks very good and competes well in our sector, surprised how smoothly it went really. Jon and Lena pulled out all the stops to acheive various features we wanted on budget, allowing client design to keep costs down and finding alternative booking site host.
Site was completed slighty behind schedule but only because of my own lack of availabilty and time to complete my inputs.
Extremely pleased with the service we experienced for small project and feel the expenditure justified by bookings. Websetup at less than 10% turnover year one, with no other marketing in these challenging times . Hosting will be significantly less and site has a lot sof potential for development.

We contacted Turtereality after having a bad experience with another web design company. The previous process was complicated, dis jointed and didnt result in what we had hoped.
With Turtlereality they listened, gave creative opinion and options and delivered it quickly with very little fuss.
Both Jon and Lena were professional, clear and creative.
They have also offered great after support whether it be on managing the back end or simply adding or subtracting information.
I have already recommended them to an acquaintance who has also used them with similar feedback.

Turtle Reality has consistently designed, collaborated on, revised and maintained both my website and blog at the very highest level. When I made the decision to chat with them about doing some work for me it was because of their impressive portfolio. But it was the initial phone contact and e-mail follow up that I had with both principals that made me decide that these were the folks with whom I wanted to work.
And they haven't disappointed. I can only say positive things about them. During the design phase for my website, Jon was not only patient but incredibly creative in configuring logos, layouts and color combinations that he thought would work for me. Throughout the course of our working relationship, he has always made himself available to speak with me: and his follow up by e-mail is superlative (even with a 6 hour time difference).
I was kept in the loop throughout the entire process during the creation of my website. The same was true when my website was revised with some added features. They were not simple revisions and Jon maintained his persistence and professional demeanor while consistently ending up with an excellent product.
The positive comments I have written about Turtle Reality above can be said for my recently designed blog done by them as well. All glitches, complications and concerns have always been handled immediately by them, even when away from the office or on vacation. I almost feel like they are in the business of being 'E'.R.' web designers and maintenance folks.
Their outstanding traits are follow through, creativity, organization and an excellent cognitive process in order to come up with a few 'best' options or solutions and first rate professionalism. What else? I always feel like they come up with more ideas, help or options than I even asked for.
Truly, they are the best at what they do. I am extremely happy with the work, maintenance and revisions they have done and continue to do for both my website and blog.

Turtle Reality designed my social news site fulfilling each section of the site requested from the brief. The site was up and running on time with minimal contact after the initial meeting. Changes to the site were made via phone calls or emails which meant work could be completed quickly and efficiently.
I was incredible happy with not only the programming of the site but the design and overall look. Jon also suggested additional elements which I hadn't considered.
The site now runs with minimal tech support.

Jon Pollard
Director
Jon has been working in the internet industry since 1996. Starting at a small web shop in Clerkenwell, he quickly ended up working for one of the world's leading digital agencies, Agency.com.
During his 3 years at Agency he worked with clients as diverse as British Airways, Boots the Chemist, Grand Theft Auto and the RSPCA with roles including designer, producer and programmer.
Eventually the corporate environment lost its appeal and in 1999 he formed Turtlereality bringing together his all-round skills to help smaller companies.
Lena Eijvergard
Director
Lena spent her early working life in hospitality, travel and logistics before changing gears for a career in new media.
Her time is divided between web development, SEO, RealityMail and project management and she will often be the first person you speak to about a project.
She is also our resident photographer and we have recently held several successful photos shoots for clients creating headshot images and lifestyle imagery.
Q: What's your name and position in the company?
A: Lena, Director
Q: Describe your company in 5 words.
A: Creative, friendly, reliable, helpful, value
Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: To create a long-standing relationship through mutual trust and respect.
Q: Describe your office environment.
A: Our office is cosy & relaxed, with great views of the Wiltshire countryside - a great working environment!
Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: As a husband and wife team we know and respect each other's way of working.
We'll quite often be discussing projects while we get dinner ready!
Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: We have been doing this for a long time (since 1999) and have a wealth of experience at managing web projects. We keep pace with change and are always looking to innovate the way we work to be at the cutting edge of technology. You will always deal with us directly and not have to go through an account manager meaning we can get of the heart of things quickly. We are with you through each stage of your project from initial enquiry through to going live and support thereafter.
Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: Repeat business and word of mouth referrals.
Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: An informal chat is followed by a proposal which is then refined as the scope of the project is nailed down. The design stage is the first part of the process, then the site build on a development server before taking the site live. Regular communication with the client throughout is paramount so we all know what's going on. This is a very brief summary, there is a lot involved in a web project and we'd be happy to talk you through it in more detail!
Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Communication is vital which is why we ask a lot of questions about your project before we even get started.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: We carefully explain each step of the process outlining timescales so everyone knows what's happening and when. Keeping the client informed and up-to-date with regular contact is key to the success of the project.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Talk to them and try to confirm their credentials by how knowledgeably they speak about a given area. If they know what they are talking about they will speak confidently and assuredly and in layman's terms so you understand - they won't blind you with science! Also, their portfolio is a key indicator of the quality of work. Also read their blog - is it regularly updated? Are the articles interesting and informative?
Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: We've been operating since 1999, we've stayed small through choice and have grown with our clients, staying ahead of the technological curve. We're not looking to go public and sell out to Google!
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: It is impossible to tell. Even 5 years ago who knew smartphones and tablets would be such a huge part of our day-to-day lives? It would unthinkable now to make a website that wasn't responsive. The key is to keep up-to-date with change and adapt accordingly - it's a continual learning curve.
Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: Both PC and Mac
Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: Jon was in a band called Turtle, they made a demo tape called 'Reality' and when domain names could first be registered he registered turtlereality.co.uk, .com, .net etc. When he started to make websites in 1999 he did so under the name Turtlereality and the name has stuck ever since!
Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Keep it regularly updated with fresh, relevant and interesting content.
