Q: What's your name and position in the company?
A: My name is Kris and I'm the founder, designer and tea boy

Q: Describe your company in 5 words.
A: Data led web design studio

Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: We love data and research at Squiders, we use this to remove the ego from the process. Websites should be more than just pretty, they need to work and put the user at the centre of the process... otherwise it is art!

Q: Describe your office environment.
A: Remote based so we have our own spaces and meet for coffee to talk through projects

Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: Usually with insults!

Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: The research approach, few companies do this, they start with the look and feel of the site and row back from there, almost forcing the user needs into an ill hitting box.

Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: Word of mouth, great reputation and a good search engine position

Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: Firstly a face to face meeting (where possible), then proposal, stakeholder interviews, competitor analysis, customer identification and profiling, journey planning, aesthetics, user testing, revisions, more testing, more revisions, live!

Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Listening and really getting to know a company, not pigeon holing

Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: With patience and through listening, I want demanding clients, those clients get the best results because they care as much as we do

Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: If the companies are equally talented with their approach and methods then it is best to choose the one you get along with, the one you can have the best ongoing relationship... if they do their job well you'll be dealing with them for years

Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: Where it is now, I don't wish to change anything, I like staying on the tools

Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: Blimey, if only I knew that! A greater integration between online and traditional offline

Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: Mac

Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: It is what my Dad called me as a kid

Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Just one?! Real photography, people buy from people, stop hiding!
