Q: What's your name and position in the company?
A: Paul Magee - Director
Q: Describe your company in 5 words.
A: Fun, Creative, Exciting, Innovative, Intelligent.
Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: Our philosophy is to provide intelligent, reliable, results-driven marketing solutions to our customers, whilst having a complete appreciation for each companies individual circumstances and aspirations.
We believe that the more hard work and dedication that we put in, the better quality our relationships with clients become - providing us with such solid ground moving forward.
Q: Describe your office environment.
A: Entertaining to say the least.
Our office environment is full of energy, enthusiasm, light-hearted competition and an overpowering determination to outperform ourselves and each other week on week.
Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: Without trying to sound cliche, I really do feel as though we have the dream team here at Social Heroes.
Each individual within the business has been chosen due to a combination of the following qualities:
- Personality traits
- Team Blend (do they fit in with the current staff)
- Experience
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work under intense time-driven pressure.
Our team love being in the office and working towards our joint goals.
Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: I feel it's our sheer collective willingness to outperform any other company out there; no matter how big or small. With each of us being individual experts in our respected areas, we can truly offer an outstanding service to all of our clients.
Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: We use a combination of methodologies, to include:
- Cold Calling
- SEO-driven site enquiries
- Partner Referrals
- Client relationships & referrals
- Email marketing strategies
- Pay per click marketing through Google, LinkedIn & Facebook
... and many more.
Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: With the complete focus on getting the right balance between the client's wants, and their customers' needs.
Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Communication, communication, communication... and a whole lot of understanding.
All of us in the Social Heroes team are 'people' people. Having open streams of communication with our clients at all times is paramount to our success, as well as the completion of work on time or ahead of schedule.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: Kindness.
It's very hard to be short with someone who is being kind, gentle, and understanding.
Everyone has the right to be demanding - we expect it every day... It is our job to put our clients at ease.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: No matter how exciting it may be to try and rush a sale - it's ALWAYS best to recommend a solution that fits the client's needs... Even if that means they go with another agency.
The goodwill always works its way back round :)
Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: Very diversified, even in comparison to today. Currently, we operate a fully hands-on all-in-one marketing service. In 10 years time, I would expect us to be using different coding languages, CMS's and marketing methodologies to get results.
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: One of two ways... Either, 1) Fewer, but much larger companies that specialise in a variety of services, rather than just web design. Or, 2) Led by freelancers who specialise in very specific niches.
Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: Both PC and Mac
Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: Possibly the most unprofessional answer I can give (but still very honest!) - We actually named it for fun. Social fitted our primary service at the time of launch, and Heroes... well, everyone loves a hero! It just worked well for us!
Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Pay attention to what your customers want, more so than yourselves. It is after all, your customer who grows your business.
