John Roberts Associates Ltd is a change management consultancy company based in East Lancashire, UK. They approached us to rescue their website after being left in the lurch by the relocation of their previous web supplier. Remedial work to a tight budget was immediately necessary and was completed ahead of schedule and within financial constraints.
Health checking their existing web presence revealed old school table based design that affected the accessibility and usability of the site. We drafted a prioritised and budgeted fix list that gave JRA a range of options for incremental site improvement. Our recommended baseline action was a fundamental rebuild to remove outdated and redundant mark-up and replace it with W3C standards compliant code which would help to ensure faster browser rendering and increased accessibility for both humans and search engines.
Minor graphic housekeeping and general tidying was implemented and although a full graphic redesign was not implemented at this stage of redevelopment it is planned for later in 2007.

A new brand of dealcoholised wine was about to be launched in the summer of 2006 by Yorkshire based marketing company, Understated Marketing
Design Brief
The product was aimed squarely at a female market and branding and it's follow through into an online presence was crucial to it's marketing. Understated Marketing commissioned me to design a brochure style site in the first instance to act as a promotions vehicle for the new alcohol free drink with the proposal that an online shop be developed off the back of this preliminary site.
Understated also commisioned a logo design to be used on all promotional and packaging materials which became the key to the rest of the site design.

Funzig were approached by the centre to redesign and upgrade their existing site to project a fresh and vibrant look and feel that would still attract technology based companies. The proposal for a new site stated that it should inform prospective letting clients of vacant units, allow bookings for room hire to be taken online and allow each existing tenant company to have a summary page that showed the location of the company within the building.
Development Notes
The site was built using XHTML and CSS to W3C standards for the front end and MySQL/PHP for the dynamic unit/tenant information.
We are currently working with the centre management to draw a list of requirements for next stage development.

Hothouse Trading is an expanding chain of homeware outlets that supplies both retail and wholesale sectors. Funzig Web Design and Development designed and developed the Hothouse website in 2004.
Design Notes
A clean and minimalist look and feel was requested that would focus user emphasis on the products rather than the site itself. The site should function as an online catalogue for a selection of the company's products and should categorise stock by rooms in the home and by product range.
Development Notes
The site is based on a MySQL database that stores product details and images that is accessed by PHP.
The next phase of development is to integrate an e-commerce engine.
