Q: Describe your office environment.
A: Depends on the day of the week! When are social media workshops are in full swing, it's a pretty lively place to be, full of noise, ideas, discussions and debate. Generally though, its professional, laid-back and a kinda fun place to be with clients popping in on a regular basis.
Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: We have a small team at 'Cariad Towers' and work with an additional network of freelancers and specialist drupal developers, graphic designers and copywriters locally in Hertfordshire. By keeping our head count to a minimum it means we can employ the best possible professional for each job and give the best possible price to our customer.

Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: We have a great bespoke workflow system for each of our different website 'products': standard build for a small business website; eCommerce ; bespoke website. Time-wise the process takes approx 4 weeks (for a standard build) and between 6-8 weeks for eCommerce and bespoke projects.
Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Good communication - a good mixture of face to face, email and phone
Really listening to the clients requirements and making sure that we understand them
Building a relationship - in all cases with our clients we prefer to have an ongoing releationship with regular catch ups
Honesty - for example, if a client has concepts for their website which will create SEO issues - we are up front about it
Managing expectations - closely linked to honesty!
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: Exactly the same as above!
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Meet them! Really get to know your website designer and make sure they understand your business, your objectives and your target market.
The way we see it, a website is the communications hub of any business - so it is critical that the web designer you are working with understands your whole business.
Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: Whilst we have a steady and clear growth plan for the next 10 years - it is our objective to be great at what we do - not to be the biggest.
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: Difficult question with technology moving so fast. How consumers access the internet and websites has changed considerably over the last couple of years. I certainly predict further growth in the need for mobile interfaces - and a shift towards new web development being primarily focussed on mobile, tablets etc.

A: Both PC and Mac
Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: Cariad Marketing comes from the Welsh word meaning 'beloved' 'sweetheart' 'true love'. Bit soppy but I am married to a Welsh man who calls me his Cariad. Well, as I love what I do the name seemed like a natural choice !

A: Pay attention to your SEO - it is vital if you wish to do business online.
