Q: What's your name and position in the company?
A: Barry Mitchell
Q: Describe your company in 5 words.
A: Professional Reliable Website Designers
Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: Keep it simple - the client isn't a website designer.
Q: Describe your office environment.
A: We are a small team of dedicated happy staff - we love making websites, interacting with our clients and our clients know this so they know we are doing what is best for their business.
Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: A well oiled machine..
We are a tight knit little team who work together to fulfil the needs of the client. We know our limits and this makes us better at the core services we provide.
Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: We dont talk 'tech' to the clients and we always deliver what we agreed upon, plus our website editing system is so simple to use that the clients just love it! We do provide unlimited support to every client but as our system is so good, we rarely need to provide any support at all!
Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: Our founder, Barry Mitchell has been optimising websites since around 1999 and knows exactly how to get us and keep us at the top of Google which is where the majority of our work comes from. Our clients also have passed on allot of recommendations which brings around 5% of our clients. We do not do any type of Radio or printed advertising simply because we know people will always look online for a website designer. Why go with a website designer who cant do found on-line?
Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: Initial consultation to talk about what the client needs from us
contract approval
Design a mock-up for approval
On approval design the site with the clients constant approval going forward
On completion, register their domain name and move on to SEO
Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Giving the client clear and concise information without geek speak - Clients dont know how websites work and are not interested in how good we are at coding. They want to get to the top of Google and make money from our services and that is the only reason they contacted us - we are honest and up front with every client. We make websites to make people money.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: We always keep our relationship with clients to a purely professional level. Demanding clients may want more than has been agreed initially but referring to what was agreed in their contract will normally iron out any misunderstandings.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Will the design company provide all the facilities they need?
Do they provide on going support once the website is finished and made live?
Does the website offered and facilities offered really fit their budget and needs?
Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: I see the business expanding to have around 10 website designers working at our offices in Dundee. We will constantly update our knowledge of new technologies for building websites more efficiently and also constantly redesign our own in-house technologies to fulfil more of our future clients needs.
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: I would say the website design industry will become more automated - clients will have more freedom to easily make changes to their own websites - although this is possible now, even with our own CMS the ability to change allot of features still needs a good working knowledge of CSS and how websites really work; I see this becoming easier in the next 5 to 10 years.
Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: Both PC and Mac
Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: If I reveal this every one will do it ...
Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Write more content and do it often!!
People like to see websites that are updated regularly so if you constantly add to your site people will come back for more. Stagnant content will kill a website very quickly.
