A: Small friendly dedicated creative design

Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: We aim to provide a friendly approach for all kinds of clients. We believe that whether you are a large company or an individual the client deserves our attention to detail. We pride ourselves on listening to the requirements of the client and doing our best to provide the best product at an affordable price. We also aim to keep the client involved throughout the whole design process so they know we are listening to feedback.

Q: Describe your office environment.
A: We work from our home in Ely in Cambridgeshire. It is a friendly, quiet environment in a lovely Fenland city.

Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: There are just two of us so we find it easy to work together!

Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: From listening to comments made by people who have had bad experiences with other web design companies, we know that we are different because we take the time to talk to our clients and listen to what they really need and want.

Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: Most of our business has come from word of mouth and repeat business from satisfied customers requiring additional sites.

Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: We estimate the schedule and attempt to meet it. Contact is made with the client at every stage.

Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Listening and regular contact.

Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: We are always polite but if a client makes an unreasonable demand we make them aware that it differs from the original quote and would most likely incur extra costs. We then agree the best course of action.

Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: As a client, you must decide who best understands your requirements. A web design company can promise to provide all kinds of features and services but if they are not necessary to improve your business or project then it is a waste of time and money.

Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: We would like to see ourselves in a position where we can supervise employees continuing to provide our high level of service and perhaps focus on a wider range of media services.

Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: The web has changed so much in 15 years, it is difficult to know exactly where it is heading. Hopefully web standards will evolve quickly to meet the extraordinary creativity in many web designers which is currently limited by the technology in place. Websites will likely be far more graphical and interactive.

Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: PC

Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: 'Apex' was chosen because it evokes an impression of 'peak' or 'pinnacle', while ensuring that alphabetically we will always appear near the top of a list or directory!

Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Always treat it as an ongoing project. It must always stay up-to-date.
