Q : Describe your company in 5 words.
A : Lively, Experienced, No-Nonsense, Friendly, Helpful
Q : Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A : Probably in a very similar situation to the one we're in now. We're happy with the size of the company. We tried hiring in staff before and having hundreds of sites to build at once but it was a nightmare. We like things the way they are now and our size, along with the amount of work we take on each year suits us perfectly.
Q : How was your company name chosen?
A : We did start off in 1998 as Net Knights but as many people pointed out this sounded a little..how can we put this..wrong... so we grabbed a dictionary, saw Adamantean, found it mean impenetrable or robust and we liked it.

I commissioned adamantean to design and build a web site for my holiday let house in Perthshire. They were quick and responsive and I am very pleased with the end result. The style and layout have been chosen to reflect the character of the house and the preferences of my target market. I was impressed that the team not only created the web site but offered additional advice to improve my web presence with, for example, Google and Tripadviser. They have also been flexible in accommodating all my ideas about content and in helping me to keep this up to date - something that is absolutely essential. All in all, a really professional job.

Adamantean were recommended to me by a friend who runs a graphic design service located in the same building as Adamantean. I set up an intial meeting with Nick Abbot, Director of the company to see if they could help in setting up a website for kids golf clubs. First meeting he had a whole pile of information on searches and stats for similar types of products. He outlined the costs and the services they provide. There was absolutely no heavy sales pressure to sign up with them especially seeing how competitive this market is now. the website was built and set up exactly how I wanted it with some great recommendations and ideas from Nick.
From never having an online business to having one, Adamantean have been crucial in making the process as simple as possible and always available to give advice and guidance moving forward.

Guestscan
Guestscan is a groundbreaking initiative that promises to safeguard Britain's small hotels, B&Bs, Holiday homes and Caravan and camping sites from 'nightmare guests'. The Guestscan Association - the first of its kind in Europe - will allow accommodation owners to check out customers before confirming a booking. Members of the association will have access to an online database of known troublemakers. This was our second web site from Adamantean and once again they came up trumps. SpeakOutUK had to be different from our main site, so we spent quite a bit of time thinking about how it might look. Nick and Derek at Adamantean always had time to talk to us and any ideas that we had, were quickly incorporated into the site. The design and colour scheme was perfect from the very start and we soon found ourselves looking at a new site which was better than anything our competitors had.
I think because of the success of our main site, we initially worried about how our second site would stand up against it. Our concerns were totally unfounded, Nick and Derek had taken time to understand our business and what we were looking to achieve. The new site was totally fresh and innovative and within days of it's launch, it was producing new business.
Adamantean have been great to work with. They don't just design great web sites but they will spend time talking and advising how to get the best from your site. We still get countless emails in mainly from India and China saying how they can get us to the top page of Google. No need, Adamantean got us there as part of the service and we've stayed there ever since.
We're just so glad they don't work for our competitors.

Derek and Nick and the team at Adamantean designed and set up our very first website a number of years ago.
From the beginning we found them to be enthusiastic, creative and really helpful. They took the time to find out lots of information about us and how our business works. They then worked with us to develop a website that truly represented the company and satisfied our clients. They always made us feel part of the planning and drafts of the web site design and the guys were happy to work on ideas with us and change things when required. There were conference calls and some on site visits. The process was painless, exciting, enlightening and ultimately rewarding. We got the website we wanted and needed. Our clients love it too.
The guys made lots of follow up calls and we tested both their knowledge and patience on numerous occasions. They continually help us modify the website as our company develops and progresses. If we do encounter a problem, they always come up with the solution.
Last year we asked the guys to create a second website for another part of our business and Adamantean have done another great job.
We always feel we can call them if we need help or advice.

We have been working with the MD of Fake Faces and Fake Bands for over a year now so when he mentioned his next project "Fake Festivals" we couldn't wait to get to work on another creative and fun web site. His new brainchild is the organisation of Festivals up and down the country using tribute acts as the headlines. With one very successful event under his belt we began to design the site using the colours and styles one would expect to see from a festival site. Whilst the site manly used for informational purposes, the site was developed with some ecommerce functionality to enable customers to book their tickets online and have them delivered straight to their door. Other functionality developed for the site includes self managed event listing, self managed festivals page as well as a booking management and ticket sales system.

Adamantean did a very good job on my website. They took my design ideas and created a website with clean, simple animation, that shows my photography well.
I needed a contact form, management over my gallery, and also a private client area where my clients could view and download their photographs securely, and Adamantean provided a great solution.

The client was looking for a simple Flash web site to exhibit a few samples of the type of work she does. The site had to be self managed to enable her to upload new images whenever she wanted.

Q: What's your name and position in the company?
A: Nick Albert - Operations
Q: Describe your company in 5 words.
A: Lively, Experienced, No-Nonsense, Friendly, Helpful
Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: To build web sites that make our customers money.
Q: Describe your office environment.
A: Messy, hectic, lively, competitive and fun.
Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: The core team have known each other for a long time (before Adamantean) was founded and everyone is an equal here. We know what we have to do and we know how to do it. We do have the occasional heated debat over the best way to do things which works out great for the customer and our business going forward.
Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: We've been at this a long time! We see web design companies appearing every week claming to be experts in this and that but we have the confidence and experience to deliver on time and on budget. We've made the mistakes already and we've been here for almost 11 years now so when we say we know what we're talking about we really mean it.
Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: Word of mouth.
Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: With careful planning! All work is booked a time slot and the work must be completed before anyone goes home. We've never missed a deadline yet.
Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Being human and taking an interest. We try and talk in English rather than tech speak and we get to know our clients and what they want to achieve from their site. It's only through doing this that you will delight your client.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: Demanding clients are fine, as long as they appreciate that extra development costs extra money and adds additional time to the project. If they don't agree to this they we won't work with them.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Simple - choose the one you get on with the best. If they have a decent portfolio and you like their designs and feel you can chat with them freely (and maybe laugh with them) then you're on the road to a sucessful partnership.
Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: Probably in a very similar situation to the one we're in now. We're happy with the size of the company. We tried hiring in staff before and having hundreds of sites to build at once but it was a nightmare. We like things the way they are now and our size, along with the amount of work we take on each year suits us perfectly.
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: Don't get us started on that - how far into the future are we talking about...?
Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: Both PC and Mac
Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: We did start off in 1998 as Net Knights but as many people pointed out this sounded a little..how can we put this..wrong... so we grabbed a dictionary, saw Adamantean, found it mean impenetrable or robust and we liked it.
Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Put the work in. It's all very well getting the site built but keep it updated. Don't leave it there getting dusty for years on end. Keep it fresh and keep it interesting.
