Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: My philosophy is to always provide top quality customer service and be honest with my clients. I always try to produce the best quality work as I take pride in what I do.

Q: Describe your office environment.
A: My office environment is relaxed, I tend to switch between projects to keep things fresh and interesting and I will nearly always have a house music or radio 6 soundtrack while I work!

Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: As it's just me I tend to get on quite well with myself, most of the time!

Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: Having worked in sales and customer service for a number of years I believe I have good communication skills; I am honest and very hardworking. I build all of my websites from scratch to W3C standards, I don't use templates like some designers do these days. Hopefully the quality of my work reflects that.

Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: I have various ways of generating business. I get some enquiries organically through my own website on Google. Handing out business cards still achieves results, as does word of mouth from clients who are pleased with work I have done for them. If I am having a quiet period I will sometimes advertise for work on websites like gumtree or elance.

Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: i will discuss with my clients either by email, phone or face to face to decide on the best way forward to meet their requirements. Once they have agreed for me to complete the work and the price I will require a deposit towards the final total. On receipt of the deposit I will complete a draft of the layout and colour scheme of the site to the clients specifications. When that is agreed I will progress to the final design and coding of the site, keeping the client updated throughout the process. When finished I will upload the site so the client can see a working prototype. I will then complete any final edits and request the final payment.

Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: It is important to be available for client communication even outside of normal work hours if necessary. I am always available for technical support and advice even when the site is completed. I have a lot of return customers and I believe this is because I do good quality work at a fair price and I am always honest with my clients.

Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: I try to be understanding and see things from a clients point of view. However it is important to be clear on exactly what work will be undertaken and what the cost will be. I provide constant updates in the form of screenshots as to how the project is progressing. Once these have been signed off and agreed to then any additional changes will be charged.

Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Don't make the mistake of just going for the cheapest option! If you value your business the quality of the work should be more important than the price. Check out the portfolio of each company, read testimonials and speak to the company directly. If they seem friendly, honest, knowledgeable and reasonably priced then you should be onto a winner!

Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: As I am currently in my first year of full time operation I am very much working on a week by week basis, trying to generate enough business to succeed into my second year. Hopefully after that I will be able to look forward to establishing a full design agency, taking on new staff and sharing the workload. Onwards and Upwards

Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: It seems that web access will revolutionise the way we go about our day to day lives to even more of an extent than it does now. It will get to a point where our cookers, fridges, cars and every other electrical object we rely on will be connected to the internet. Also retail is quickly moving away from the high street and onto the internet so ecommerce will also be a rapidly growing area.

Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: Mac

Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: I used my own name. Easy choice!

Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Once the website is completed that is just the start of the promotion process. It is important to use social media, blogs and online business indexes to increase traffic to your website and improve your SEO. If you don't have the time to do that yourself than employ somebody to work 1-2 days a week on the online marketing side of your business. It will definitely be worth it!
