Website Marketing Hampshire

17 August 2011

Why is it that many small businesses, having decided they need a website, don't follow their own marketing plan when building their own website?

If you're a small business owner you will (or should) have a marketing plan. This will revolve around what you perceive are the strengths of your business – your uniqueness and any competitive advantages you may have in the particular marketplace you operate in.

This is all very well and good – you may have a plan that is in full swing – involving advertising in local media, press releases, networking and more. But where does your website fit into the plan? Do you have a website?

In my experience, a company website may not be always on the agenda, and even if it is, it may not have been fully thought through regarding what and how you are going to communicate with your potential customers.

So many small business websites say what the companies do – but do they actually communicate the uniqueness that was the reason they got into business in the first place, or do they communicate the competitive advantages that the company has over it's rivals?

By offering to your potential customers reasons why they should buy from you, in a way that communicates with their sense of need for what you are offering, you will be a step closer to gaining those extra customers that every business relies upon.

Having a business website should be treated as if it's an extension of you – in terms of what it says and how it says it. Does your website communicate your uniqueness? Believe it or not – people are looking to buy from you when they get to your website – you must give them some good reasons.

So how do you do it? If you would like to discuss how you can go about your website marketing in Hampshire take a moment to complete our enquiry form at http://www.itseeze-winchester.co.uk/response-to-blog-article.
