Companies House Scam Email Warning

For web design companies that are Ltd companies and that may do online filing with Companies House this is an important bit of info for you and for your clients.

An email claiming to be from Companies House is circulating at the moment which has a zip file attached to it and within the zip file is a .exe file which if clicked on installs a virus on your computer.

The fake email looks as if it has genuinely come from Companies House and even gives the correct Companies House contact details within the email.

The theme of the email is a (CC01) Company Complaint.

If you receive an email like this with a zip file attached and a “.exe” file within the zip file you should delete it and report it to companies house via email to enquiries@companieshouse.gov.uk
