J.L. Grightmire Arena in Dundas has already been declared “The Best Small Town Arena in Ontario”. At least that’s what former arena manager Frank Westoby had printed on matchbooks once given out at the local community landmark. “Nobody ever questioned me,” Westoby told the Dundas Star News for a story on the arena’s history last year. He was a member of the original committee that formed in 1949 to oversee construction and fundraising for a new arena – intended as a war memorial.

We had a fantastic experience with Stagecoach Designs. Rodrigo Flores was our designer and he made the process an extremely positive one. Although his initial design wasn't what we had in mind, he was very open to our feedback, listened to our comments and requests, and quickly responded with exactly what we were hoping for. He worked quickly and efficiently and was always available to respond to any questions or concerns. He was always extremely helpful and positive and we were thrilled with the final result.
Stagecoach also went beyond my expectations and tailored an information/training session specifically to my schedule.
Every staff member I've dealt with has been professional, courteous and helpful. I would highly recommend Stagecoach to anyone needing a website.

The service I received from Stagecoach Designs was exceptional. For me, creating a website seemed a daunting task, but every contact I had from my first call to reception to the coaching session and the work with my designer, made the process very easy and stress-free. I couldn't be happier with the end result. My website is exactly what I hoped it would be. My designer worked hard to make sure my requests were considered and I felt very much a part of the process. The only reason we can see objects is because light reflects off of them and enters our eyes – it truly is a wonder, and Ewout is in a perpetual state of visual wonder. Having an understanding of how light behaves is essential to creating effective and convincing photographs. With over six years in the photography industry, Ewout has the technical proficiency needed to get the precise photographic results that his clients are looking for.

Jen Dawson

Writer and Editor

Jen Dawson is a writer and editor whose creativity, humour, and insatiable appetite for clarity are evident in her web sites, newsletters, marketing copy, research and ghost writing. As a cultural anthropologist, she is particularly adept at understanding each client's needs and unique audience. Jen's illustrious equestrian career ended at age 10 with a broken arm. This in no way affects her ability to work for a company called Stagecoach.

Melanie Parish is the founder of Stagecoach Designs. Melanie is an accomplished speaker, corporate trainer and certified coach. Over the years, Melanie has coached many business people who were struggling with their websites and marketing. Melanie created the coach approach to web design to help businesses create more effective websites that work. Melanie’s 20 year background in sales and marketing gives Stagecoach Designs a solid foundation to help clients build websites they will be happy with both functionally and aesthetically.

Rodrigo is a web designer and developer at Stagecoach Designs. He is known for his patience and crazy work schedule. Legend has it that provided enough caffeine, he can code out a standard, static mockup in less than two days!

A: Nicholas Boylan, General Manager

Q: Describe your company in 5 words.
A: Full Service Marketing Managment Team

Q: Describe your office environment.
A: Open-concept, and very team-oriented. It's a storefront, so clients can walk in and out any time.

Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: We work in a flat team structure. On person interacts with the client (usually the designer), and several other people such as the writer, photographer, developer, and SEO will work behind the scenes.

Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: Our specialist approach. Several experts work on a project, rather than one person who kind of knows how to do a little of everything. This produces extremely effective marketing platforms.

Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: By building relationships. Good marketing and advertising is a process, not a once and done product, and it is important that we demonstrate the process by building a long term relationship with our clients.

Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: This process can be found in detail on the Stagecoach Designs website.

Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Follow-up. Consistently following-up with clients and prospects is the best way to build and maintain a solid relationship. It doesn't matter how good the work is that you do if the client doesn't know you're doing it for them.

Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: With information. Early in the relationship, clients are thoroughly informed about the process, what types of production schedules we follow, and what to expect.

Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Meet with the people at each location, and determine who is most interested not in selling you a product, but in helping you build your business. Having a website means nothing, no matter how well designed, if it doesn't meet your goals.

Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: Multiple storefronts, servicing small businesses as well as large. With an expanded team, we'll be even more capable of helping our clients grow.

Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: Anyone who thinks they can answer this question with authority is misleading you or has a large ego. General trends are mobile web, even more demographically-specific advertisement, and easier user interaction.

A: Both PC and Mac

Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: Your website is a piece of marketing, but that isn't where it's strength lies. It is a marketing platform. Use the ease of distribution and modification to build a center for all your other marketing and advertising.
