Q: What's your name and position in the company?
A: Laurie Bartlett, Founder and Managing Director
Q: Describe your company in 5 words.
A: B2B SEO and Web Design
Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: To serve out clients to the best of our abilities, help them engage with their target audience, and get the customers they deserve.
Q: Describe your office environment.
A: Open, focused, and happy.
Open, because we believe we should always speak our minds; preventing misunderstandings, and ensuring problems are revealed early on (friendship is vital here).
Focused, because we need to able to concentrate on giving our clients the best possible end-result.
Happy, because we know that a toxic environment is detrimental to our combined success as a business.
Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: We believe in open communication, keeping it real; meaning what we say, and saying what we mean. This type of culture fosters friendship, which in turn increases ease of communication, which completes the circle.
Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: We put our effort into ensuring our service is perfect for B2B companies.
While we do offer our services to everybody, our expertise is in providing marketing services for the B2B sector, which includes a wide variety of industries, from manufacturing and construction to SAAS and other service industries.
Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: Our main source of business comes from referrals and word-of-mouth among the manufacturers we have as clients.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: We have no reservations about clearly stating, to a client, what our capabilities are, and how long we will need to complete a project. If your needs are more than we can provide, we won\'t hesitate to inform you that we can\'t accomplish the tasks asked of us and will recommend another agency that may be better suited to help.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Firstly, you need to identify your requirements for your website; that is, the non-negotiable features that you must have. You should be able to shortlist any web design companies using that criterion. Next, determine the \'nice-to-haves\' (i.e. elements that you want but don\'t need), and choose a company that can provide the maximum amount of those features, within your desired price range. However, be wary of companies that promise the world yet without pricing to match; if it\'s too good to be true, it most likely is a scam.
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: One word: 3D.
With the ever-growing presence of augmented and virtual reality, it is more likely than ever that these devices will eventually replace our current method of interaction with a computer. And to stand out within this space, web design will evolve to embrace this new 3D environment. I am unsure how it will happen, or even when, but I am sure that this is an unavoidable eventuality.
Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: PC
