Describe how your team interact and work together.
Taurus Interactive:
”My team is for the most part me, seeing I am freelance. However I do have a lot of contacts in this industry so on larger projects, I can pull in resources form far and wide. So essentially, we all work remotely. That's the beauty of the web!”
WWDC:
What makes you different from other web design companies?
Taurus Interactive:
”You would have to be the judge of that. My advice, check out my portfolio and my client feedback. I've won numerous awards on projects for larger international corporations, yet still produce great work for the small business. I'm not picky!”
WWDC:
How do you get the majority of your business?
Taurus Interactive:
”Referrals, my website, pitches and online freelancing website bids.”
WWDC:
Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
Taurus Interactive:
”Every project uses the same philosophy of using a set plan of milestones. The client always has the final say at each stage to ensure they know exactly what is being produced. I want happy clients and that is only achieved through transparency and communication.”
WWDC:
What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
Taurus Interactive:
”Speaking plain English and none of this 'buzz-word' non-sense.”
WWDC:
How do you manage demanding clients?
Taurus Interactive:
”Good old fashioned diplomacy.”
WWDC:
If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
Taurus Interactive:
”Firstly, try to find a company that has produced the kind of work you want to produce and at the quality you would expect - that's a simple process of reviewing their portfolio.
Secondly, work with someone who is either local or contactable and speaks your language. There's nothing worse than being a million miles away and having no way of contacting these people.
Third, set your budget and work with a company who can work to your budget and offers a fixed cost for your work. Many companies tend to work on hourly rates and they can stack up fast!
And lastly, ensure you have a contact name and email of someone who is going to be heading up the project so you know who to speak to to get updates and discuss progress. Without a project manager at their end, you could end up frustrated.”
WWDC:
Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
Taurus Interactive:
”I am freelance so forgive me for not wanting to expand. That is not in my business model.”
WWDC:
Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
Taurus Interactive:
”If IPV5 is implemented and the connection speeds get so much faster, we could see a shift in the type of content you can deliver. 10 years is a long time in this industry.”
WWDC:
What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
Taurus Interactive:
”Both PC and Mac”
