WWDC: What's your name and position in the company?
IvyCat, Inc.: Eric Amundson, President

WWDC: Describe your company in 5 words.
IvyCat, Inc.: Professional, Personal, Experienced, Solution-focused

WWDC: What's your business philosophy?
IvyCat, Inc.: We listen carefully, and strive to provide such remarkable service that customers wouldn't think of going elsewhere and they happily sell for us.

WWDC: Describe your office environment.
IvyCat, Inc.: We're a distributed company, so each employee works from a home office.

WWDC: Describe how your team interact and work together.
IvyCat, Inc.: We use Basecamp, an online project management collaboration tool for most communications.

WWDC: What makes you different from other web design companies?
IvyCat, Inc.: We have a holistic approach to web development that starts by learning about your business, your customers, and your goals. Then, we tailor a solution for your organization that addresses the look and feel of the site, back-end operation, search engine optimization, usability, accessibility, and, if needed, management and maintenance.

WWDC: How do you get the majority of your business?
IvyCat, Inc.: Most of our business comes from word-of-mouth, but we get quite a bit through search engines and our site.

WWDC: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
IvyCat, Inc.: We create an estimate, develop look and feel focusing on usability, integrate with backend CMS, add content, optimize, test, make changes.

WWDC: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
IvyCat, Inc.: Open communication.

WWDC: How do you manage demanding clients?
IvyCat, Inc.: Carefully. We give all clients the same level of attention, but realize some businesses have more rigorous demands, so we work to create an environment where even demanding clients needs are met in a timely fashion.

WWDC: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
IvyCat, Inc.: Take a look at the web company's portfolio, talk to them and, if possible, meet them in person. Don't judge based on price alone. Make sure the company you use listens to your needs and goals. How responsive are they? How much do they understand your business before quoting the project?

WWDC: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
IvyCat, Inc.: Still making successful websites for customers in both small and medium sized businesses and organizations. We'll be viewed as the choice for professional web design services in our area.

WWDC: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
IvyCat, Inc.: Very busy and increasingly dynamic. Gone are the days when static websites are enough for most businesses. The web is growing and innovating and, over time, I expect to see even more specialization within the industry.

WWDC: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
IvyCat, Inc.: Both PC and Mac

WWDC: How was your company name chosen?
IvyCat, Inc.: We wanted a short, memorable name and, while shopping around for domains, I saw my cat intertwined in an ivy plant and just put it together.

WWDC: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
IvyCat, Inc.: Don't let your site become dated. It's important to keep your content fresh, add new information, and regularly evaluate site statistics to find opportunities for improvement.
