While we have experience using many of the CMS packages available today, we have found that none truly meet the exacting requirements of our clients. We have developed a custom CMS system called CommunityContent which simplifies the management of large websites with multiple editors. WWDC: Describe your company in 5 words.

WWDC: What makes you different from other web design companies?
FUNL Marketing: We do all custom work. There are no "cookie cutter" solutions. We approach every project with the clear goal of making sure we exceed all expectations.

WWDC: How do you get the majority of your business?
FUNL Marketing: Nearly 100% of our business is referred to us by existing clients. We end up getting many clients when they simply get "fed up" with their previous developer. We also maintain long-term relationships with most of our existing clients. We have no outside sales staff and do not advertise except via our website and through sponsorship of charitable causes.

WWDC: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
FUNL Marketing: We begin by learning as much as we can about the business and the industry. We want to be sure the the end product matches the business perfectly. We go through multiple design iterations and once approved we move into a production phase where the site is structured. Then we get final approval and launch!

WWDC: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
FUNL Marketing: communication

WWDC: How do you manage demanding clients?
FUNL Marketing: We aim to get to know our clients very well over the course of the project, and always ensure that every project is completed to exceed our clients' goals.

WWDC: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
FUNL Marketing: Talk with someone at the design firm and get a sense of their knowledge and abilities. Also, always contact a few references just to be sure that they are legitimate.

WWDC: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
FUNL Marketing: We hope to continue our present rate of growth for the foreseeable future. In 10 years, we will probably have a slightly larger staff, but still be small enough to provide the personal touch for which we are known.

WWDC: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
FUNL Marketing: The industry is splintering into three different areas presently. There are basic "brochure sites" being developed either from templates or by some college kid. Then there are the advanced interactive websites. The third area includes SaaS (Software as a Service) where advanced developers build complex software systems which are fully web-based. We provide the latter two. The college kids are on their own (as are the people who hire them on the cheap).

WWDC: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
FUNL Marketing: Make sure that it provides your target audience with the desired information in an easy and accessible manner and provide a clear "call to action."
