There are new tags that are different They do not use traditional DIV tags, we can get cleaner and organized code. This will keep the code to content ratio correctly.

HTML 5 allows to store data locally from client side. This data can be accesses when the client is disconnected from the server for a short time.

HTML5 introduces new elements and features that allow developers to improve interoperability, handling elements in a precise way. This will save time and cost.

Faster applications

New form types and elements will ensure that the information entered online is accurate. There is no need to write separate code for validation. This will make websites to load faster.

Mobile devices

Mobile devices cannot use the mouse based operations of Flash as most of the latest devices come with touch screen options.HTML5 fits in well and quality of the video files is also improved.

HTML5 compatibility with browsers

Firefox

Mozilla has been an early adopter of the HTML5 standard. Beginning with Firefox 3.5, the first support of the HTML5 standard started. This corresponded to the 1.8.1 version of the Gecko engine, main open source layout engine of Firefox. Mozilla continued adding more support for HTML5 with subsequent releases of their browser. The current release, Mozilla Firefox 3.6.9 (Gecko engine 1.9.2) has full support for the HTML5 specification, including audio and video. Mozilla also offers a mobile web browser which is based on the same engine as the regular web browser.

Chrome

Google Chrome was released in 2008. The current Chrome version is 6.0.472.55. Google Chrome has solid support when it comes to HTML5. With the exception of just a couple of features, it supports pretty much everything including audio and video.

Safari

Safari supports HTML more than any other browser.

Opera

Opera Presto supports HTML5 except in few aspects.

Internet Explorer

Internet explorer 9 can support HTML5 even though the lower versions of internet explorer fail in 2011. We hope that HTML5 may be improved in 2012 to give performance in other IE versions also.
