Auto sound on or off (music and videos)

Most web sites out there have automatic music or a voiceover playing as soon as you enter the web site. While this is a good thing, some sites have no way to switch them off and where this could put clients/customs off from returning to the site. The most common is music playing in the background as soon as you enter a site this is not only a problem if you have your own music playing or have your speakers on up high which can result in some users closing the web site completely just to stop the sound.

Other web sites have videos playing as soon as you enter as well. This is a great way of getting people’s attention on the promotion side of the site, but again could put people off as they have to scroll down and try and find the video.

It is always good to have volume controls even if it’s just a simple button that can be easily found as soon as you enter a page and not have videos automatically play as well.
