When we started looking to create our new web based venture it was of paramount importance to us to find a company that had both the technical build abilities and also the design flair. Many companies promise both but none have delivered to date. We were willing to travel anywhere to find teh right blend of skills and ironically we ultimately found the ideal team and partners on our doorstep.
Initial discussions showed that they were readily able to grasp a new business concept so commercial awareness was an unexpected tool to find in their tool box.
Those discussions naturally lead to budgets being discussed and it was refreshing to be given an indicative figure for the design and build which pretty much ended up being on target. Other companies we interviewed insisted on asking how much we had to spend before telling us how much it would cost - very frustrating for newbies in the world of the ethernet.
The level of organisation and control demonstrated by all at Yammayap is most impressive - some of the project management tools that they exploit are very clever and must surely have wider applications.
We are now a matter of days away from launching our new venture and it will feel strangely lonely not having the team there for support - that is how it feels - as if they are working with you towards a common goal and not just looking to bank the next cheque. I could not recommend them highly enough.

Yammayap kept us fully informed throughout the development process, ensuring that we were 100% happy before moving to the next stage. The 'BaseCamp' system employed by Yammayap is a wonderful tool enabling easy interaction and monitoring of developments.
As the site developed some of our requirements changed - these amendments were dealt with comprehensively and efficiently. Any questions we had were answered quickly and informatively, and we were even provided a guided tour of the CMS.

Combined with some creative programming from George addressing our huge list of requirements, our new website and content management system have all the functionality we were hoping for.

Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Being honest and not treating the clients like idiots. Working hard to understand the problems clients are trying to solve and offering well thought out solutions.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: We work hard to always do what we can, nothing is too much trouble but sometimes something has to give, there are only so many hours in the day!
If a client becomes too demanding or expects an unrealistic level of service, we will try to resolve the situation as much as possible but we are not afraid of telling a client when they are being unreasonable. Should it continues, we will not be afraid to end our partnership.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Look at the results of other projects recently completed, ask for references and follow them up. Don't just look at the cost.
Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: Being able to service larger clients whilst retaining that personal touch. We never want to have too many levels of division within the company.
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: A greater focus on design and usability, mobile and social will continue to be important.
SEO consultants will have to continue to change their game to keep up with Google.
