We're very pleased with both the process of working with WildSide Design and the finished product they supplied to us.
We originally chose them because their ideas for the project were the most creative, without being impractical or unaffordable. From the outset they were really enthusiastic and it was easy to build up a strong working relationship very quickly - we're very grateful for this because it made managing the project much easier than previous expeirences with other developers!
Communicating with them was very easy and everything was explained to us very clearly and concisely. We had access to the work-in-progress throughout the project and regular meetings were always easy and convenient to arrange.
It was also very useful that they were able to offer a one-stop shop service to us - we required web-design, illustrations, graphics and even voice-over narration - all of which they were able to provide without our needing to deal with other contractors.
What we appreciated most though was their pragmatic approach: they were quick to foresee any issues and contact us in advance so that we were able to avoid them before they arose. In the rare instances where problems did arise they were able to offer realistic solutions that didn't feel like a compromise. As a result we felt they were working *with* us rather than *for* us and this had a really positive effect on the outcome.
We've had such a good experience working with WildSide Design (and feedback from our users has been so positive about the site they developed for us) that we've already begun another project with them and are hoping to follow this up with future contracts.
All in all, highly recommended!
We contacted WildSide Design when our previous web design company let us down and we needed someone to resurrect our website as quickly as possible. They were able to start work immediately and were very flexible on a time and day to meet to discuss our requirements. With very limited knowledge of website design we had few ideas or suggestions but we were adamant that, while we wanted a fresh, new look, we also wanted to keep our original branding and logo which we felt was crucial to maintain our identity with our existing clients. We also wanted a very simple, clear and easy to use website. We felt that WildSide Design listened carefully and adhered closely to what we wanted but greatly enhanced our brief with imaginative, creative and simple but effective ideas. They consulted us at every stage explaining everything clearly and concisely and were willing to make as many changes as we requested - even when we contradicted our original brief! We particularly appreciated the face-to-face contact when we felt it was necessary but also found the contact by e-mail and phone to be helpful and efficient. They not only designed the site but dealt with all the peripheral technical detail that we had neither the time nor the expertise to handle ourselves. Even after the site was up and running they dealt patiently with our questions and concerns for several weeks afterwards. Overall we found WildSide Design to be efficient, friendly, professional and very good value for money and would have no hesitation in recommending them.
Jodie
Head of Creativity
Jodie started scribbling as soon as she could grab a pencil, and hasn't stopped since.
Her love for drawing and design was ever-present during her education and culminated in her obtaining a degree in Illustration from Falmouth College of Arts.
Post University Jodie embarked on a career as a professional artist and was picked up to be represented by the illustration agency “Inkshed”. She has worked predominantly within the editorial world and frequently has her work used in well known publications such as: “The Guardian”, “Mail on Sunday” and “Financial Times”.
During her time as an illustrator Jodie has become familiar with the methods and tools used in creating digital art and animation. Always keen to explore the more technical side of creativity the progression to online design seemed a natural one for Jodie who in 2008 co-founded WildSide Design to utilise these talents.
Outside of design Jodie’s other passions include music, travel and adventure.
Matt
Head of Technology
Matt's first interactions with computers were problematic at best, having no formal knowledge to help him, his many experiments resulted in failure. It dawned upon him that if he was going to be breaking computers so much he should probably be able to fix them too. A few accidents later, and he was now a dab hand at solving computer problems.
Never one to stay idle he started to teach himself about the various languages he could use to interact with computers and experimented with a number of projects. Some of his earlier creations included a web based chat system and a whole number of database driven web forms. After studying Computer Science to gain a more formal education in computers, Matt took up employment in the IT sector where he worked on several scripts for automation of system tasks, as well as more complex web applications.
After trying out a number of different scripting styles, Matt decided his favourites were those used in the creation of web sites and web applications. In 2008, Matt co-founded WildSide Design where his talents could best be used.
Aside from computers Matt's other pleasures include film, music and travel.
