Now, in 2011, it was time for a revamp and it was opportune that WebCreation sent me an email to suggest that a 'makeover' may be needed. Naturally, I used WebCreation and, yet again, the design concept was spot on and I am very pleased with the finished product. From the beginning of the project I felt involved in the design process as I completed the Creative Brief which included picking images from the library. My developer clearly understood my needs as he submitted a fairly credible first draft that we then worked on through email exchanges to arrive at the final design template. I was then passed onto the ecommerce team who took care of the technical side of things and integrated the payment gateway for ecommerce. Any issues were acted upon promptly and I was really surprised at the responses I received even after normal hours. I could not recommend webcreation uk for anything. They are an awful company in my opinion and would discourage anyone from using them. All their designers are in India, communicate in English badly, write in neiche code that causes loads of coding problems. Our site took a year to build, and a year on from completion, we still have coding errors. The back office system is archaic, and stiff. It's incredibly difficult to work with, and even the text editor doesnt work. We had to change developers twice and still have the same problems. The designs they offered were poor at best and we had to employ third party designers in the UK to improve and redesign the pages and later correct all their coding errors. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are a huge waste of money, our site is terrible and we are exaspirated. Paul

I had a very good designer appointed to my project, who created some very good designs for me to choose from, It looks better than what I'd had in my mind for so long, he even designed a new logo for me, which again, surpassed the one I had originally intended to use.
He, and other members of the WebCreationUK team were always on the other end of an email if i needed them, which was fairly often, as I'd never had a site built for me before, and didn't really know what to expect. He listened to my concerns and ideas, and was always transparent when it came to him giving me the answers.

The service is mainly email based but you can get in touch with a WebCreationUK person in office hour who is only to willing to help. I found the process to be simple and effective. If I didn't like a particular part of the design I would email the developer and it would be corrected and turned around within a day or two depending on how big the change. All of our suggestions and requests were met the designer created funtions better than we expected as per our brief. I was delighted with the whole process of designing and buliding of my website. The designer led me through each part and explained what was happening as she did. We built up good working relationship quickly. She respected my timescale at the beginning because I had just had my baby son and was only working a few hours per week. The designer came up with the initial idea and that gave me something to build on. I was most pleased with the unlimited revisions of the site. It enabled me to change my mind several times over the tiniest detail and not have to pay for it. The designer was pleasant and great to work with and didn't complain about re-doing work several times. I would have liked to have had more technical terms explained to me from the outset. Perhaps a glossary of terms for people who know very little about websites/hosting etc.

Last month I signed up with Web Creation UK to create a website. Web Creation UK have a strong internet presence and give every impression of being a well-established and reputable company with an impressive portfolio of existing clients. This initial impression was borne out by my first contact with them; enquiries were answered quickly and a quote for my website was forthcoming within minutes.

However, having taken my 50% deposit of £360, the company has not been able to deliver. I was promised a website in two and half weeks. However the first concept took 10 days and was only a draft of the homepage which looked it had been dashed off at the last minute without any thought given to what we are trying to achieve.

Since then, things have gone from bad to worse. Despite e-mails to the web designer and complaints to the head office, things are progressing at a snail’s pace to the point where, we have come to the conclusion that there is not the remotest possibility of receiving a finished website at all. The web designer can’t understand or write e-mails in English.

After taking the initial 50% from me they have out-source the actual development to designers based on the sub-continent. Although I obviously cannot prove it, there’s every indication that they are out-sourcing the development work at rock-bottom rates to developers who are almost certainly overworked and, if our own experience is anything to go by, simply do not have the necessary English and IT skills to understand the client’s wishes and deliver the product the clients are paying for.

The way Web Creation UK Ltd operates is that after the design phase, ie the home page of the site, has been approved, they then ask further a further 25% of the total price, so that the customer has already paid 75% when only a fraction of the work has been done. From their point of view, it’s irrelevant to them whether the site is actually completed or not and I suspect that many customers simply walk away when they realise that they simply cannot get the company to do the job they have been paid to do in anything resembling a reasonable time frame.

Our correspondence with our web designer has been characterised by extremely slow responses and instructions which are either misunderstood and ignored, to the point that it had become clear to me that there was not the remotest possibility of our web designer delivering anything like an acceptable product.

Various complaints to Web Creation met with standard, pre-prepared aggressive answers which did nothing to address specific points a complaint about the delays in getting up dates from the web designer brought the reply: the web designer is obliged to respond to any query within 48 hours, they still defended this when I pointed out seven days had passed and we have not received a thing. Ironically they feel that if the response is only ‘I’m working on it’ that is an acceptable response. It’s difficult to think of a more meaningless or evasive response.

I am thinking of telling the company that I would not be continuing with their services and ask for a refund of the 50% deposit. Needless to say, early enquiries are that this request will be turned down as their contract is for a non refundable deposit despite them not performing. I have been reminded that there is an endless possibility to get the design right for my needs. Trying to get a website developed with this outfit is an endless process, so endless that a lot of their customers give it up as a bad job. Of course Web Creation don’t exactly put it that way in their quotations or indeed their homepage.

The problem is that although Web creation is a thoroughly unscrupulous and dishonest company, this does not necessarily mean they are acting illegally and, of course, they do everything possible to protect themselves from possible claims.

Like others whom I have cribbed much of my complaint from I feel like I’ve been mugged, so the least I can do is to ask trading standards / watchdog to investigate these fraudsters. Particularly as the government is encouraging start up businesses and one of the first things a start up business will do is commission a web site and many of us will end up broke before our business commence. There appears to be little regulation of this industry and the consumer is very exposed.

In simple terms their output is quite simply not as they proclaim therefore there is clear misrepresentation going on here.

My complaint is not unique there are hundreds of similar stories on the Web, I just wish I had read them first. Web Creation are bound top respond to this complaint and make out they are wonderful and I have it all wrong all I can say is read all the complaints on all the review sites and you will see literally hundreds of complaints all saying the same thing can we all be wrong? I leave that one up to you. If you still want to instruct these guys carry on but be warned their T&C’s are all about them and not guaranteeing anything they say they can do and all deposits are non refundable! Be warned and good luck.
