Teachers relate how educational visits and out-of-school teaching helps to bring learning to life for their classes. Children and young people often benefit from a deeper understanding of history, culture or the environment.
Learning outside the classroom can inspire and motivate pupils in new and exciting ways. With a wealth of educational opportunities on the doorstep, schools in the region are in an envious position.
Teachers needed an easy way to find the information they require when planning such trips. The Teach Out website, and the Teach Out directory distributed before Easter 2007 to all schools and colleges in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset, has been developed in response to this need.
