For the past 6 months Splinter have busily been developing the games for Conker Media’s multi-platform digital fiction event, The Well; created for BBC Switch. Extending online where the audience can immerse themselves further in the story, exploring a spookily atmospheric recreation of the main drama location in a multi-level game. By engaging with The Well online through completing a series of tasks and challenges the audience can unlock hidden drama content which reveals the backstory to the TV drama.

The Flash-based site features high-definition trailers, extensive game info and exclusive downloadable content. It’s also localised for 22 different territories, in 11 different languages.

We developed and focus tested the new brand and it was officially launched in June 2006. National Museums Liverpool, who receive more than 2 million visitors to their museums every year, asked Splinter to give their website a re-vamp. The new site went live in the summer of 2008. The project involved us coming up with a design for the main portal NML site, as well as designs for each of NML’s 7 museums across Merseyside, including a specific learning section.

We have recently completed content and design of the Hull Children and Young Peoples website. Splinter, in partnership with Mair education, produced full design templates, illustrations and written content for two websites targeted at under and over 12s.
