Judy at She Online built the first version of Arachnoiditis.co.uk way back in 2000 and used the most up to date tools available at that time. Since then she has remained on top of all the latest developments in web design and technology, constantly updating and improving the site. This time around a full rebuild was required. From day one of the project she fully involved me, showing me her design ideas and checking back with me to see that I was happy with the layout and look. We went through the process as a team with the result that what appears on the monitors of visitors is absolutely what I want them to see. The navigation from one section to another is clear allowing visitors a seamless journey through the various sections. The look is clean, uncluttered and uncomplicated. I am more than happy with the results and her work proves that you don't have to be in the centre of a modern metropolis to get the best results. I will certainly not be moving my business elsewhere.

I found this web designer to be excellent both in communication, and ability to deliver.

Judy's service was thorough and professional, and we would have been set up sooner with a with quicker response to her requests from me!

All considerations were taken on board and with some welcome input from herself the site was completed above expectations.

We are extremely happy with our web site that Judy designed. It was our first experience creating a web site and Judy was brilliant, she explained everything to us in a 'straight forward' language so that we understood every step, she gave us great ideas that we hadn't even thought of during the building of the site and we were really pleased with the final result.
Judy has taken time to find us, and include us, on all the appropriate links - something we hadn't expected - and we are on many websites we hadn't even heard of.
Judy was (and continues to be) just a phone call away whenever we had any queries, questions or worries.
Overall an excellent service!

Sheonline immediatley grasped our ambition and quickly developed a vision for the website that we were delighted with. Judy took the time to understand our ambition and ideas and quickly converted this into a working site. We found Judy to be extremely professional, creative and innovative, She always delivered as promised and we're delighted with the final outcome - 10/10!

She Online comments:
I was delighted to work with George and Lynda on this project. The area where the cottage is located is stunningly beautiful and they have taken time and care to developed a unique luxury self catering cottage. It was a joy to develop a site to reflect the beauty of both the cottage and its stunning location.

We had a very good relationship with the web designer; she explained things well and in straightforward language, she listened to what we had to say and what we wanted and incorporated these into our website. Her photography was excellent and we have had good feedback from others who have seen the website. We seem to be negotiating the search engine maze successfully, thanks to the quality of the website and the free links our web designer recommended.

We began our journey with an informal chat about me and my business. From there Judy began to formulate and share her ideas, which from day one captured the essence of the image I was hoping to present, but didn't quite know how to articulate.
I was kept informed every step of the way, and always felt that my opinion and suggestions were very important. Judy seemed to understand what was needed to bring the business to the fore and get noticed in the big wide world of the internet.
The outcome and result was above anything I had anticipated. The site that Judy created was professional, classy, easy to navigate, pleasing on the eye and very informative.
The wesite has performed very well since we went 'live', and the ongoing help and support is second to none.
This has been a well worthwhile investment, and I would have no hesitation in recommending She-online to anyone who wishes to get noticed online.

She Online were brilliant. Judy was very informative, came up with a very professional looking web site for us that has worked well. She listened to what we were saying, told us what would work, what wouldn't had lots of ideas which was very helpful as we didn't really have much of an idea of what we wanted

She Online made everything look so simple and straight forward - from Judith's first visit to my premises in order for her to assess my requirements for my website (a new small Publishing Business). She listened very intently to my ideas, and was able to come up with various suggestions for the format - for which I was truely grateful.
Communication was important to me and Judith was always available to give me progress reports and answer any queries I had with running my website (in a way that was easy to understand).
I would not hesitate to recommend She Online as a professional, competent and extremely reliable website designer.

During the construction of my web site there was frequent communication between us, both by e.mail and telephone. The focus of the discussions were relative to the various aspect of the site which, from my professional point of view, required particular emphasis. Judith proved an invaluable resource in that she was able to direct her considerable expertise in the field of web design to emphasise the factors that I wished highlighted. My intention was that the final construction of the site would ensure that prospective clients were attracted to the particular headings displayed on the front page. This, of course, would invite them, even at an unconscious level, to further explore the site. This has, in fact, proved to be the case. The consequence of this is that I have reduced my advertising budget considerably as 70/80% of my business comes via the web site. The site is well maintained and updates are quickly implemented. The essence of a good web site design is in the end product and, in my case, the results obtained have been particularly satisfying. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone seeking a productive well maintained web site.

WWDC: What's your name and position in the company?
She Online : Judy Macdonald is She 0nline

WWDC: Describe your company in 5 words.
She Online : English spoken at all times

WWDC: What's your business philosophy?
She Online : Help when and where we can by offering advice and information first, if your happy then we can do business.

WWDC: Describe your office environment.
She Online : Views across rolling moorland and deep blue sea lochs provide the calm atmosphere for a fairly hectic office.

WWDC: Describe how your team interact and work together.
She Online : She Online has numerous 'friends' who are top of their game in the field of Internet development, design and photography. In most cases they are local to the Isle of Lewis and come in on a contractual basis when their services are needed.

WWDC: What makes you different from other web design companies?
She Online : We are there for the long haul, we don't build and forget. Having specialist knowledge of the area and businesses in our location we understand the strengths and weaknesses of running a company in the Western Isles and more importantly how to market it to a wider world.

WWDC: How do you get the majority of your business?
She Online : Word of mouth and via our website.

WWDC: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
She Online : Listen, listen some more, ask lots of questions, respect every client and their business needs, communicate throughout.

WWDC: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
She Online : Understanding and communication is the key to building a good client relationship. Old fashioned principles like respect, patience and regard is crucial. Clients know their business, it's up to the designer to create a representation of that business (or project) to the right target audience. That requires listening , researching and communicating with their client and working toward a mutual goal.

WWDC: How do you manage demanding clients?
She Online : When the groundwork is set, the planning laid out, costing approved work can begin. If a problem arises (and there isn't a business immune to this) then meet it head on and solve it first chance. Excessive demands are usually down to a breakdown in communication, or if extra work is required, then it's back to planning and start again.

WWDC: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
She Online : Talk to everyone, meet with those you can, ask for customer references and email contacts of previous clients and contact them. A quick email could save you a lot of worry, money and time. Finally make sure you actually like the person you will be working with, if you don't, chances are you won't like what they produce.

WWDC: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
She Online : Looking after the customers we have cared for for the last ten years with many more happily on board. Many of our clients have started their online journey with us and we are proud to say they are still with us.

WWDC: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
She Online : The technology is changing rapidly and opening new doors to new horizons. I think the future will see this industry fragment into specialist areas. Those who specialise in, for example, tourism, hotels and catering and broken down even further into areas and locations. It's happening now and as more and more people get their own websites and compete for rankings and ratings, then it will take a specialist with intimate knowledge of both their industry and area to provide them with the best results.

WWDC: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
She Online : PC

WWDC: How was your company name chosen?
She Online : Like most women running a business and/or household we are constantly being 'hunted'! The phrase that followed me around was "Where is she" - now you know - She's Online!

WWDC: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
She Online : Keep it updated, even if it's only through a link to your social networking pages. Even the most attractive sites need to be sticky, need to keep people coming back. If you don't change your content, or images, then what's to come back for?
