Interview

WWDC: Describe your company in 5 words.
R1 Creative: Creative, vibrant, committed, dynamic, pioneering

WWDC: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
R1 Creative: Doing what we do now =)

WWDC: How was your company name chosen?
R1 Creative: Room One - because that's where it all began. In a meeting space with R1 on the door. And a thought occurred... That room didn't just contain an idea and a brand, but creativity itself, from wall to wall, floor to ceiling. And when we moved, so did that creativity and that brand. We believe that the best ideas transcend boundaries: A room, a building, a country, a population. So we called ourselves R1 Creative to remind us that while all good ideas are born within natural parameters, their growth potential is unlimited. Don't believe us? Just look how far we've come!

I am pleased to say that I am completely satisfied with the way in which our website was designed and delivered. The standard of service and help to understand how to administrate the website was done in a professional manner as all my requests were met. Any coplications were met and overcome quickly. The design of the website looks fun and appealing to the audience we like to attract. The final outcome of the website is that it is easy to use and accessable for administration for importing any content or images.

Thanks

Matt and the team fulfilled all or requirements, coordinated well and was very patient with us and kept the conversation mostly jargon free!! to ensure we acheived our aim in getting the website we think we deserve.
We have since returned to R1 and added several other extras to the site which were simply and quickly dealt with, We can upload all the info we need quite easily at our convenience.
Highly recommend, you should consider R1 Creative for yourselves....Thanks again.

I came to R1creative after a bad experience with a different web company. Matt, the designer, really quickly synthesised my ideas into a workable format, and created a site that I'm really happy with.

I came to the project with my own ideas, but i reckon he'd have done just a good a job without my input. He was very patient guiding me through the various setup steps, and the content management system he setup means i can easily add work in the future, and his continued support has been very helpful. Very talented chap, is Matt.

WWDC: What's your name and position in the company?
R1 Creative: Paul Beard, Marketing Director

WWDC: Describe your company in 5 words.
R1 Creative: Creative, vibrant, committed, dynamic, pioneering

WWDC: What's your business philosophy?
R1 Creative: As a truly integrated agency, we have the skills in-house to service any creative marketing requirement. With that in mind, we are dedicated to understanding the core issues behind our clients' needs, allowing us to provide the most appropriate business solutions for each and every challenge, from planning through execution to response. We are artists and musicians. We are scientists and philosophers. We are writers and web geeks. We are real people with a passion for all things 'Creative'... A pro-active bunch who see our clients' successes as a reflection of our own.

WWDC: Describe your office environment.
R1 Creative: Exciting, animated, challenging but fun =)

WWDC: Describe how your team interact and work together.
R1 Creative: We've been working together for many years and thrive off each other's ideas and creativity - efficiently pulling our specialist areas of expertise together to make sure we consider every challenge from every possible perspective.

WWDC: What makes you different from other web design companies?
R1 Creative: We are always available to talk at any length - whether you're a client or not. No obligations. No stipulations. We want to build trust, good-will and eventually meaningful relationships with organisations, so we're perfectly happy to offer the best advice we can to anyone who cares to ask! In other words, we put our money where our mouth is.

WWDC: How do you get the majority of your business?
R1 Creative: Word of mouth. Repeat business.

WWDC: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
R1 Creative: Each client sits down with our Marketing Director and discusses strategy before any payments are made. When both client and agency have confidence in the strategy, the project or retainer can be commissioned. Each client is assigned a project manager who ensures the project runs smoothly. We then produce a series of scamps or mock ups and refine designs until the client is happy, offering unlimited rounds of amends. Finally we build and test, invite the client’s feedback then launch with posts to twitter and our blog :) By creating solutions that deliver intelligent business informtion, we can then further promote the campaign, plan future activities and refine ongoing processes...

WWDC: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
R1 Creative: Open and Honest Communication

WWDC: How do you manage demanding clients?
R1 Creative: There are no demanding clients - Only exciting challenges.

WWDC: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
R1 Creative: I would say go with the one that makes the most business sense and offer the best value for your money, not just the cheapest one.

WWDC: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
R1 Creative: Doing what we do now =)

WWDC: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
R1 Creative: Creativity will always evolve. That's why we love it. Design is not a thing to 'use' as a marketing tool: It is relevant to marketing simply because of its role in culture and society. All we know for sure is that culture and society evolve (along with technology). We're just excited about helping people to be a part of that process.

WWDC: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
R1 Creative: Both PC and Mac

WWDC: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
R1 Creative: Make sure your customers get some value from it - whether you offer them useful information, interactivity or just plain good fun! Relevance is the most crucial part of any communication.
