Company recommended by reviewer

We have an ongoing relationship with Oxox Design, we use this company for lots of projects, including web editing for Ballachulish Community Council website and Ballachulish Shinty Website.

We have also used them to project manage and design interpretation boards for an extensive slate project, we have found the company very easy to deal with and more than willing to help. There quotes and tenders have always been competitive and more importantly have come in on budget. And they are always ready and available no matter what time of day you call, even out of normal working hours which made it easier for the Community Council as we are a voluntary organisation and work during the day.

We as a community council would gladly recommend Oxox Design to anyone.

WWDC: What's your name and position in the company?
Oxox Design & Events: Lorna MacAskill Owner of Company

WWDC: Describe your company in 5 words.
Oxox Design & Events: We go the extra mile.

WWDC: What's your business philosophy?
Oxox Design & Events: We are here to help clients, to help market there businesses. We are a one-stop-shop, offering an experienced, friendly, personnel service. We can work around our clients schedules, arranging meetings that fit into there day not ours. We work outside the normal 9-5 hours, which offers flexibility to our clients.

WWDC: Describe your office environment.
Oxox Design & Events: Modern, bright design and office space. Working in close relationship with overseas partners via internet and conference calls.

WWDC: Describe how your team interact and work together.
Oxox Design & Events: Working together via new technology, getting together monthly for meetings with overseas partners and accountant. We tend to meet up out with the office at a local hotel or coffee shop.

WWDC: What makes you different from other web design companies?
Oxox Design & Events: The majority of our work is still graphic design work, and coming from a professional design background gives us an advantage over the normal web design technical web companies who tend to be more technical in there design, where we can work closely with the web designer to make the look of the site more attractive for the client....

WWDC: How do you get the majority of your business?
Oxox Design & Events: Through word of mouth, and via local advertising.

WWDC: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
Oxox Design & Events: We would have an initial meeting with the client, and gather as much information about the individuals likes and dislikes. And get a feeling for what their looking for. We would then work with the client to gather text and images and work on the branding for the company or work with existing branding. We would then liaise with a web designer to achieve the desired project.

WWDC: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
Oxox Design & Events: To listen to what your client wants and not to try and push our tastes on to them. To work with your client to get the best for them, to be flexible with your client and help them through the design process.

WWDC: How do you manage demanding clients?
Oxox Design & Events: We like demanding clients, after all they are the boss, their paying.

WWDC: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
Oxox Design & Events: I would suggest they called each companies and have a chat about there needs, they will find they will click with the one that best suites them and there budget.

WWDC: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
Oxox Design & Events: I would always want to be a small, friendly, personnel business, but would look to have premisses within the town centre and employing between 10-15 staff members.

WWDC: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
Oxox Design & Events: I think the web is the future for all businesses and can only go from strength to strength.

WWDC: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
Oxox Design & Events: Both PC and Mac

WWDC: How was your company name chosen?
Oxox Design & Events: As an event management company the name was chosen to describe the personnel and friendly service we offer OXOX is the urban use for Hugs & Kisses, and using this abbreviation OXOX and not Hugs & Kisses was down to the Graphic usage of the term which easily brought together both sides of our company, event planning and graphic design.

WWDC: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
Oxox Design & Events: To offer all your services to your customers and all options to get hold of your services. To make sure you market your website as much as possible, once you have it going live don't forget about it, its an ongoing project and keep your content updated always.
