From the outset Clare made a good assessment of our needs and was then very responsive to the changes and developments we suggested. We are delighted with our website and the tutorial videos are really helpful when we need to update content or make simple revisions.The ongoing support is great, but to be honest the site works well and is easy to manage so until we need a major redesign we should be fine on our own.

Medden have been critical to the development and launch of our lifestory business Book of You. We came to Clare with a concept and she immediately understood what we were trying to achieve and came up with suggestions to make it possible.
Book of You is a demanding web design project, involving managing memberships, uploading media, allowing the collaborative authoring of multi-media online books, and the export of print-quality PDFs for real books as gifts. It has necessitated a huge amount of new thinking and problem solving, and Clare has been absolutely brilliant in doing this, and explaining technical issues in language that we could understand. She has been highly flexible in dealing with the demands of an evolving project, and very patient when we have taken her down development cul-de-sacs!
Clare has a tremendous ability to problem solve, has high quality standards, and understands the needs of clients and the people who will end up using the website. These have been essential in the development of our unique business model, which was launched in July 2012. We would highly recommend her work.

I would like to thank Clare from Medden website design who worked on my website, from taking over the site back in Sept 2010, Clare's advice was easy to understand, logicial and professional. She took on a bit of a mess with the previous web designer and from the start listened to vision I had for the site, she offered good advice on how websites should work, then did her research & came back with a list of alternatives to match our discussions.

Client had an existing site but was restrictive and he had out grown it. Client wanted a full ecommerce site with various custome made modules. We used Magento to create a great CMS with professional ecommerce capabilities. Euro converter, continue shopping module, preorder facility, googlebase, SSL are just some of the functions we installed.

A: As a family business we all have a vested interest in making the business run smoothly and efficiently.
Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: We wont treat you like idiots - you are experts in your field and we are experts in ours. We will make the process of getting online easy and explain everything without killing you with jargon.
Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: Word of mouth and recommendation.
Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: We set up and initial meeting to run through the clients brief and then given them some ideas as well. We like to think of this as a brainstorming meeting. Once contracts are signed we then start work on 1st draft. We keep the client informed by email and phone of progress and after 1st draft is complete we send it to the client to look through then arrange a meeting to discuss. From there we usually work via email or phone and then work on all changes etc until the job is complete. On completion the client pays the remainder of the costs and design sign off is completed.
Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Communication - keep talking.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: I am honest with my clients and to this date I know my clients stay with me because of my honesty. If a client is demanding then they have every right to be because this is their project but if they are being unreasonable I will talk to them and ask the right questions - usually there is an underlying reason that a client is worrying about etc.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Don't rely on cost. Web Designers will a vary in cost greatly - I think it comes down to relationship - who do you feel you can actually work with? Contact some of their other clients and see what they have to say.
Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: We aim to be at the forefront of website design. We hope to help our clients achieve some great results from the sites that we create from them.
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: I hope that every business can have an online presence that is suitable for them. I can see more and more websites being created that will have a huge impact on the way we live. The internet is limitless.

A: It is my maiden name and being unusual thought it was a good name to keep.
