Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: It's important to be realistic with the client from the beginning. And manage the clients expectations. Too many times other companies quote much too low on a project having not fully understood the requirements and brief provided by the client. When we receive the brief from a client it is often too vague and incomplete. We first look to go through this with the client and elaborate on functions and requirements. Then only do we quote, ensuring we have quoted accurately and the client satisfaction at completion of the project.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: Again it is important to manage the clients expectations from the beginning. If you are fully aware of their wishes and requirements this tends to ensure fewer problems or unwanted demands later.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: It is important for the client to make sure that the web design company has fully understood their brief and the quote is accurate and complete. Not just simply pick the cheapest quote, but make sure that for the money you are paying you are getting the website you have requested in your brief. As it may be the cheapest at the start but if it doesn't work then it is not the cheapest in the end.
