Leaping Hare is a friendly and professional web design company that specialises in helping small businesses to establish an effective presence on the web. We especially like to work with artists, craftspeople, performers, musicians, writers, food producers and other creative workers.
Leaping Hare focuses on creating affordable websites which are both attractive and functional. We aim to create websites that are attractive, well designed and reflect the image and style of each individual client. Perhaps even more importantly we design sites to be attractive to search engines.

Simon Ripley, an established Devon-based artist and printmaker, wanted a site to promote and sell his work. He wanted a site that "stands out and looks a bit different" but is clear and easy to use. It was also important to be able to view his images as true to the originals as possible. With such strong and varied colours in his work it was important to use a neutral background, yet he was "quite keen on the bold use of colour in the site itself". Leaping Hare created a cool, uncluttered design using mostly muted tones but introducing a bright red vertical line motif. The home page features a scrollable gallery of images optimised for fast loading but still true to the original colours. A further gallery of thumbnails allows the visitor to open high resolution images of Simon's linocut monoprints.
