Doncaster Gate Heritage Project

The Doncaster Gate Heritage Project was run from July 2008 to July 2009 to document the history of the Doncaster Gate Hospital, as it is to be closed after over 100 years of service in Rotherham. The website had to be a permanent reminder of the hospital and to also serve as an archive for the future. The site has many custom features including an interactive time line.

The History Project

The history project was set up in 2006 by a local community development trust to document the history of Kiveton Park and it's mining heritage. The website was produced as an archive for all the documents, images, video and audio that was collected throughout the project. The site contains over 1000 images and 10 hours of audio and video. A custom header was produced to show the pit working day and night.

Green Sheep design have been fantastic. They have worked hard to produce a website which fitted within the aims and goals of the project. They have been developing new ways of presenting the information so that it is at its most accessible to the public. The design of the pages are innovative and perfect for the projects subject. A great working relationship developed betwwen myself and the company which made it easy to communicate what I wanted and how they both felt it could be achieved to the greatest possible extent. They took time to communicate effectively the more technologically complexed parts of the design so that I felt I fully understood what was happening and how the website would work. I was also able to spend some time working on the most specific areas of the website which was also helpful to my understanding. I am completely happy with the final outcome; they have delivered above and beyond what i could have asked for.
After approaching several website designers, for our first website; Greensheep stood out head and shoulders above the others, not only on price but the passion they showed for the whole process.
Our brief was interpretated exactly and the final result far exceeded any of our expectations.
The whole process was very smooth and we felt part of the process throughout.
It was a pleasure working with both Tom and Holly and we will have no problems using them again AND recommending them to others.
Having worked with several web developers I believe that Green Sheep Offer extremely good value for money. They delivered the brief I gave them to a very high standard and there customer service is second to none. Both Holly and Tom are great people to work with which made overcoming issues and taking the project forward so much easier. I hope to be using Green Sheep to maintain and update my site indefinitely.
A proactive company with innovative design ideas, giving helpful suggestions on how to get the most benefit from a website, which has resulted in a design which many of our customers have commented on and praised. We have also used Greensheep for business card design, email templates and will continue to use them and have recommend them to clients and customers.
Design team work closely with us as clients adapting specifications around our company needs.We were pleased that accessibility was also prominent by the effective introduction of hotkeys to access different parts of the website. The flash slideshow on the home page also gave an excellent introduction to any visitor of what we are about - people. The designers were easy to communicate with and produced a product which we are very satisfied with. Any changes or alterations were effectively deal with and explained in plain English.
