Reviews
Digital Idiom were responsive and helpful, with a "can do" attitude right from the word go. They worked with me "virtually" while I travelled in Australia, the US and the Middle East, designing and producing an excellent result.
One of the things I appreciated most was their availability to support and guide me as we completed the design and then launched the new site. They took the time needed to understand my company's aims and values, and they made a complex design process seem easy for us. No detail was too small, and no concept too big for them. Congratulations to Digital Idiom on delivering a first class service.

Thanks for your positive comments regarding our web design services. It was a pleasure to work with someone who had a vision of what they wanted to achieve. We wish you well with the 'leadership' business and please contact us with any new ideas in the future.
I would thoroughly recommend Digital Idiom. They were the only design company which offered a proposal to meet my requirements - a redesigned website which I could maintain and and amend. They were also happy for me to continue with my current hosting arrangements. Other companies wanted to take over the hosting. Digita Idiom recommended a product for me to use (Adobe Contribute) and recommended a design strategy which has worked very well. They were also happy to go through several iterations of the design in mock-up before starting to build the actual website.
Derek Cook is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He has written several tutorials to help me, as a non-programmer, add content to the website and has been very responsive to any questions from me. Since the new website has gone live, he continues to offer me hints and tips. I am very happy with the new website, which was delivered on time. It is already getting double the number of hits of the previous site, and these are early days yet. Digital Idiom's charges are also very reasonable.
I was a CIO for over 10 years and so am used to dealing with technology companies, mayn of which are mediocre. It was a pleasure to deal with such a professional company. Digital Idiom is in the very top bracket.

Thank you for the praise. It's always a pleasure to work with responsive people. We wish you well with the ShareMaestro web site and business plan.
I have found the web site design company to more than satisfy my needs and wants. Their prices were very competitive and the service provided excellent. I am able to comunicate at ease and explore ideas together well for the mutual benifit of both parties. The final design and SEO service has been of the highest standard and I would recommend their services with out hesitation.

Thanks for your kind comments. It was a pleasure to help with this project. - Regards, D.C.
My late husband delt with the set up of the website with the website designer, so i wont be able to comment of whether they took our requests in to consideration but they came up with a website which we were both very happy with. They are very quick to update the website and any alertations if they should arise
yes they did communicate with me and they take my request into consideration i did feel part of the process and i was informed with everything they was going to do .they did speak to me with what ever they was doing .
i was very happy with the outcome and their professionalism. yes they did very well with the overall design.
everything was superb they did a very good job very well and i was happy.
From start to finish the project was dealt with in a highly professional way. I received one to one consultaion which was totaly jargon free. My requests were considered and met in full. As a technophobe I was guided through the process step by step and the project manager made sure I fully understood before carrying out any actions. I received regular updates and proofs and had opportunities for further input before the project was signed off. The final result was fantastic and I would not hesitate to recommend DIGITAL IDIOM WEB DESIGN (UK) to any one considering a new web site. Well done. I would rate them as a 5 STAR PLATINUM COMPANY.
What kind of relationship did you have with your website designer? Did they communicate well with you?
Did they take your requests into consideration? yes and gave good advice
Did you feel part of the process? Did they keep you informed about what they were doing? constantly
Did they speak to you in jargon or jargon free? jargon free
Were you happy with the final outcome? yes, great
He explained all the options clearly and interpreted our designers photos and style to fit with our existing brochure. We have been very pleased with our position in the search engines for our key items for sale and they are spending more time to keep our newer products and srvices at the top of the list. The whole process was smooth and when changes have been needed by a fixed a date this has been done exactly as required.
Found very good at interpeting business requirements into visually excellent website. Very helpful and proactive.
Helpful with continuos improvements to site. The website was kept within an agreed budget with no suprises.
We get excellent feedback from our clients and it secures many bookings for us. The process was painless and the result was superb.
From start to finish the service was great. All of my requests were taken into consideration and helpful advice given throughout the whole process which I felt very much part of. It was jargon free and extremely easy to put together. I was delighted with the outcome especially when the extra link of "Tell a Friend" was added in, which I felt was exceptional and not anticipated. Thank you very much.
As a small business I always look for value in any service I buy in so when it came to upgrading my website from my own amateurish efforts, I was keen to find a web designer who would not bamboozle me with techno-speak and deliver what I was looking for.
Derek responded very positively with concrete, professional advice that gave me a flexible solution I can edit myself. Subsequent design and functionality requests are managed promptly and patient help and advice are always on hand - especially reassuring to a web novice like me.

I was asked by the owners of Pampered Pet Sitting Service to take their portrait for their website and to produce a flyer to advertise their business. The flyer was to be reproduced in the same style as the website. I therefore called Derek from Digital Idiom Web Design, who had produced their website, to request various elements of the design. Since there are overlaps between his business and mine, I was easily able to explain what I wanted in technical terms.
I found Derek extremely helpful, responding quickly to my requests, even over the Christmas period. After our initial conversation we corresponded by email and he was able to supply all the elements of the site I needed. This not only allowed continuity of product, but also saved me considerable time.
Digital Idiom Web Design and Des in particular helped making our websute stress free. The communication was clear and concise, and our prime objectives were his main consideration. Unlike other webdesign companies, he listened to what our demands was (some unrealistic) and guided us on the right path without confusing us with to much jargon.
We have had fantastic results with the website and recieve most of our reservations through this as apposed to the sites we pay to advertise on. We rank very highly on all the major search engines. Which is partly down to clever programming and his indepth knowledge on how they operate. He is happy to make make small changes to the website for us without making us feel it is wasting his time, and I have and will continue to recommend him to friends and associates.
Fast & efficent service nothing was too much trouble.had dealings with derek & the team for just over 3 year now and can honestly say iv had good service from the start...Very reasonable price's and very good design.. they have helped me a lot since i first launched my site i would reccomend them to anyone looking for a good web designer
Excellent initial service - professional and good design. As this was my first website, I was a little confused at first by the technology and jargon but Derek made the process as easy as possible. Any amendments to the site, new photos, annual price changes, etc are carried out promptly and at reasonable cost. One unexpected bonus is that, from time to time, Derek will email with suggestions about improving search results or giving details of new sites to register with.
The service received from Digital Idiom, with all our websites, has certainly exceeded my expectation's. Having a limited knowledge of web site design, and optimisation it was a great relief to have someone experienced in this to explain how it works, and recommend how the best way to proceed for each website would be.
The finished websites, were all how I had visualised in my head and then some. The additions made to improve Click Through Rates, page load times, and visual effects were unexpected and added a much broader appeal to the sites.
All throughout the design, creation, and maintenance of the site, there has been no time where any problems haven't been addressed immediately, and resolved promptly.
Simply, this is a company that I would certainly recommend to anyone looking to create a site for business purposes, and looking for a professional and courteous service.
I could not have found a better website designer for my purposes. My initial budget was limited and I liked the fact that they could offer a choice of pre-set packages with transparent pricing so that I could see exactly what I was getting. They responded to my brief very well - incorporating all of the elements that I wanted and offered several choices on the look of the site. When I wanted to make amendments to things along the way - these were made quickly and efficiently. My business necessitates the use of a lot of photographs and I was very picky over the choice of these and how they were used - however my requests were always dealt with patiently. Communication was excellent - offering me jargon free choices along the way which I could understand and I always felt that I was part of the design process. The final outcome exceeded my expectations and better still - they set the site up with an easy-to-understand interface so that I could add further pages to the site myself as the business grew. Having no technical expertise I thought that I would find this a struggle but Digital Idiom provided all the instruction I needed and were always there on the end of the email if I needed them. We communicated mostly by email since that is the method I prefer. However had I wished to speak more frequently by phone I'm sure that would not have been a problem.
Since then they have always been on hand to offer advice when required and have augmented the site for me in various ways - such as the recent addition of an instant translation facility in several languages.
The website does everything I want it to do and grows with my business. It is often complimented. I would not hesitate to recommend Digital Idiom.

From concept to completion the service from digital idiom was better than I expected. If I wanted to take the web design in a certain direction and digital idioms experience was that it was a mistake, they would carefully explain to me their reasons for advising against my choice and then provide a more than satisfactory solution.
I set a very tight deadline for my launch and the site was delivered two weeks early so I was very pleased.
Although the majority of our communication was via email there was always someone to speak to if needed and things were explained in a clear, easy to understand fashion.
The actual appearance and layout of my site achieved the exact image I was trying to portray for my company so digital idiom understood my needs precisely.
Within less than two weeks my google ranking was excellent and using the search words I expect my clients would use I was coming up on either the first or second page.
Since I started my business 90% of my client intake has been as a result of my web site and I always ask clients why they chose my therapy practice over others; the answer is nearly always 'because of the quality of the web site' and how they associate a professional web site with a professionally run business.
Would I recommend digital idiom to a friend? ABSOLUTELY!!!
Digital Idiom came highly recommended from a client of mine. Before the project started they clarified our requirements and were particularly good at NOT talking techie jargon but explained it all in layman's so we understood. We were consulted over any 'grey' areas and had an on-line test area during the site development were we could feedback and suggest changes. This made it easy to test the site before we went 'live'
We are more than happy with the final result, infact it's loads better than we expected. In particular they got us into Google and Yahoo TOP 10 for our keywords very quickly so we got enquiries quite quickly form the web. I can honestly say that the whole process was smooth, trouble free and a pleasure to be involved with. Highly recommended professionals who added loads of value.
Strong personal relationship built over a number of years. Ability to understand the product and its position in the market. Very much a joint exercise enhanced by Digital Ideom ensuring we had clarity before embarking on each stage.
The end result was more sophisticated than we originally believed possible and had the capacity of growing with our requirements
For a company with very limited Internet experience they showed great skill in leading us through the myriad of options that are available

Thank you for your comments. The By Elise project was particularly interesting to do because the product is so unique and the designer jewellery just stunning! This project was a bespoke web solution befitting a bespoke product range. Everyone loves the designer jewellery showcased at byelise.com and we ourselves have had numerous comments on how easy the site is to use and that the product takes centre stage NOT the web design itself. Quite right too !!

How do you get the majority of your business?

Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):
”We are so flexible. We really do bend over backwards. Our process is tailored because after years of dealing with small to medium businesses that all work differently, have differently needs and differing knowledge of IT projects. No two projects are alike so no two processes are alike.
Some clients prefer a very personal hand's on approach, others prefer to communicate through email. We don't mind, whatever suits.
For sure we are very responsive in turning customer ideas into a design, build, test and release. And we ALWAYs look to spot issues and advise on possible solutions - such as usability, search engines, content layout, branding... that's where customers realise we add value. They love that !”
WWDC:
What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):

WWDC:
How do you manage demanding clients?
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):
”Demanding clients just need more of your time - so that's what they get. We prefer if a customer takes an active interest, it means they care about the design as much as we do. Bring 'em on!”
WWDC:
If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):
”Speak to them all. Test their knowledge. Measure the rapport. Ask what value they can add beyond the creative design such as Search Engine Marketing, after-sales support, how quick they can turnaround change requests and if they have ensured professional error-free coding standards.
And price is no indicator of value or standards - more expensive doesn't mean a better site or guarantee success.”
WWDC:
Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):
”Large enough to count, small enough to care but expanding into new web devices/technologies, hand held internet devices, web TV and employing more people.”
WWDC:
Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):
”More sites merging into other media and accessible across many devices - sites will need to be built once but used and interact across many platforms. It's already happening with things like FaceBook, YouTube and Twitter. And it can't be too long where the TV/web are merged and very interactive.”
WWDC:
What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):
”Both PC and Mac”
WWDC:
How was your company name chosen?
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):
”That took a while, we wanted to sound modern & unique but globally it's hard to find a unique name. After many tries we think we have it. We didn't want to be just "Sky Web Design". If you search our name you'll find us on the web. That's good.”
WWDC:
If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
Digit@l Idiom Web Design (UK):
”Think past your design theme, and optimise the site for ease of use and getting high in the search engines. Pretty pictures are unlikely to win sales, prospects have to find you first!”
