myhandbagswap.com is a unique idea which required this website to be custom built. We have created the site to meet the needs of the client, including the logo design. The website features a database of handbags, with extensive search facilities. Members can list bags available for swapping, and respond to those listed. There is a small charge, which is collected via Paypal. The chat forum is also custom built to integrate fully within the site, without requiring members to have a separate log in.

If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?

”Viewing the designer's portfolio is a good place to start. You could try contacting some of the clients in their portfolio, and asking them if they were happy with the service they received. Call the web design company you are considering, and see if you can speak to someone who will help, or do you get answerphone or admin person who offers to call you back later? This could be an important difference, especially if you require support after the website is complete.”

If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
Catalyst Website Design:
”Consider your website as a friend - and look after it. If you think of it as a job to be done, box ticked and forgotten about, then you will not be getting the most out of it in the longer term. For a small business there may not be many changes needed, but review your website at least annually to see if it still meets your needs and the style still looks current.”
