WWDC: What's your business philosophy?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”We believe in making the web usable, not just good looking. We aim to provide all our clienst with a solution that will compliment there offline marketing where necessary and is targetted towards the right audience. We also aim to ensure that visitors can find what they want where they expect to find it.”

WWDC: Describe your office environment.
Capital Edge Ltd: ”Relaxed and enjoyable!”

WWDC: Describe how your team interact and work together.
Capital Edge Ltd: ”We work carefully and closely with plenty of open discussion, dialogue and often opinion!”

WWDC: What makes you different from other web design companies?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”We believe that our business focus (Eddie is actually business trained) allows us to have a unique approach to creating fucntional, attractive websites. We really focus on the usability and not just good looks.”

WWDC: How do you get the majority of your business?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”Most of our work comes from word of mouth recommendations from clients and local business networks. We also get some work through our own website.”

WWDC: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
Capital Edge Ltd: ”We always meet the client face to face . This allows us to build a proper rapport with our potential client and understand their needs. From there we will quote. Once accepted, we will provide a draft idea as the basis to work from and once approved, work to ensure that the clients desired content fits nicely and in a wokrable fashion in to the design. We will build on the basis of the draft design to create the website on a test domain to which the client has access. Once the client is happy, they will be asked to sign a completion form and we will publish the site to the live environment.”

WWDC: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”Listening to their needs and being able to explain WHY we propose doing what we suggest. Many clients have their own ideas which, whilst great, will not fit in to a usable website so we will advise and tweak to make sure their ideas can be incoporated sensibly in to a fucntioning website.”

WWDC: How do you manage demanding clients?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”Carefully! We tell the truth and explain why we do what we do. This usually prevents clients from being too demanding and they always know what is going on and why.”

WWDC: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”We would recommend they select a company which has a proven record of providing quality website designs, which they really feel they can talk to and which have a real account manager (or designer) with whom they can easily meet.”

WWDC: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”We are looking to expand the company and then to increase the number of technoloies we are involved with and to go with the times!”

WWDC: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”Moving more in to mobile (handheld either phone/iPad/Slate devices) with a lot more content on demand. We also expect it to merge more with television so there will be small format and large format design projects to work on.”

WWDC: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?

WWDC: How was your company name chosen?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”It was the result of a random thought whilst waiting for a train in to London from the edge of the capital!”

WWDC: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
Capital Edge Ltd: ”Make sure that wherever a visitor lands, they can find any necessary information they may be looking for within two clicks!”
