With facilities to completely (and easily) manage everything on the website, and plenty of scope to add new functionality that may be required in future, the CMS system is hugely scalable, SEO friendly, and simple to use. The 16i team are friendly and approachable. They kept me in touch with progress all the way and have been very supportive as I have felt my way with the CMS. I am no computer expert but uploading text and photos is quick and easy - there are demonstration videos on the 16i website and the staff are always happy to talk me through things if I go wrong.
Our MidWest RDA region website looks great, and we have had a number of enquiries from both potential riders and volunteers, as well as lots of interest from the groups in the three counties we serve. It is not only a shop window for RDA but a virtual magazine, reference library and diary for the whole region.
I would recommend 16i to anyone wanting a really good looking, good value website and excellent ongoing support.

The initial meeting was good and I felt they got on board with what I wanted. They gave me a choice on logos but that was it. Basically they designed the site with little input from me on colour etc and I was unable to change it once it had been done. I would have liked a lot more input. Having said I do like the website and it does it's job well
The updating of it is a pain and I find it really difficult to upload photos even though I specifically stated that I wanted this and video loading facilities. I can;t understand how I can upload pics to facebook etc in a second but the website involves resizing etc etc so muchso that i don't bother when it would really add to my site to have photos on there.
I am expanding my business and will want to change things around so I can put vides up etc and at the mo Iam not sure what I will do.
The SEO side of the site I cannot fault. I am exceptionally happy with where I am ranked and the amount of business I am getting
16 Interactive comments:
Hi Clair,
Thanks for recommending us.
I'm glad that you like the site and it is doing as intended; getting you lots of business!
Having not heard from you since the site went live, we were surprised to find that you were experiencing any difficulties, especially as you can call us for support, and we provided you with full training on how to use the CMS, including how to add video and images to your website. If you can call us, our team are waiting to help you with anything you are trying to do.
The reason we asked you to sign-off the designs before we built the site, was to avoid a situation where you want to make changes after everything is completed. Unfortunately, once the site is signed-off and then built, we need to charge to cover the costs of making further changes to the site template.
We're really pleased you like the website and that it does its job well, but if you are getting stuck, that's what we're here for, so please just give us a call on 01242 654 000 – unlimited support is included in your hosting package.
Thanks,

Q: What's your name and position in the company?
A: Ed Tallents, Sales & Marketing Manager.
Q: Describe your company in 5 words.
A: Helpful, Innovative, Caring, Responsive, Effective.
Q: What's your business philosophy?
A: The best possible support and service. Complete transparency with everything we do. No contracts, no commitment, no hard-sell. Best practice, accessible, standards-compliant, future-proof.
Q: Describe your office environment.
A: A fun place to work that nurtures creativity and inspires excellence; something our team members are all proud to play a part in.
Q: Describe how your team interact and work together.
A: Each member of the team is an expert in their own area. Everything is delegated accordingly - A designer designs your site, a coder codes it, a developer develops it, and an SEO expert optimises it.
Q: What makes you different from other web design companies?
A: We aren't just designers, coders, SEO's, or developers - we're the whole lot, combined. Your website recieves the attention it deserves from the relevant expert in the team. We provide a one-stop internet marketing shop, where everything from email tech support to search engine optimisation is just a phone call away.
Q: How do you get the majority of your business?
A: Reccomendation and referrals.
Q: Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
A: Clients often have an idea in their head as to what they want, but many don't. We start the design process with the end goal: What is the site required to do? Capture information? Sell products? Act as a brochure?
We then develop a site around the criteria outlined in this initial fact-finding stage. We look for keywords that will drive relevant, targetted traffic to the site and design the site around this.
Q: What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
A: Providing honest, transparent advice, while listening and responding to client requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Q: How do you manage demanding clients?
A: Listen to them, and view the situation from the client's perspective. Often our most demanding clients are the ones who are ultimately most vocal in reccomending our products and services. Having previously been one of those "demanding clients" myself, it's easy to see things from the other side of the fence.
Q: If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
A: Make sure they have the resources to support them AFTER they have built the website - after-sales service is often as important as the rest of the process. Pick someone who can support this business as it grows, and can offer much more in terms of future development. Make sure they are busy with other projects - the best people are always over-subscribed.
Q: Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
A: Exactly where we are now, just with more staff, and taking-on more projects simultaniously.
Q: Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
A: With UK adspend moving towards online consistently for the last decade, the UK now spends more on internet marketing than TV advertising, and the trend continues. Online is the new highstreet, and it's a very different animal. Having come from an online retailer turning over £500,000 p/a, which struggled before the moving online, I have uncompromising faith in the ability of the internet to transform businesses.
Q: What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
A: Both PC and Mac
Q: How was your company name chosen?
A: The company founder and key staff all cut their teeth on the earliest 16bit systems way back in the 80's - specialising in interactive websites; 16 Interactive was the obvious choice.
Q: If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
A: There are actually three:
1. Consider SEO from the outset of the process, not as an afterthought - how will people find your website?
2. Listen to the advice of the agency you hire - you hired them for a reason, so don't try to design the site yourself unless you have produced a carefully considered brief for them to follow.
3. Look at the process from your customer's perspective - it doesn't matter if you like your website; as long as your customers love it, that's all that matters!
