Design Process

Below is a description of how we approach our design process. We recommend you employ something similar with your design team.

We have a simple, effective, tried and tested process for managing our projects, that can be easily scaled up or down for your specific needs. With clearly set out mile stones and realistic deadlines, maintaining that we achieve completion on time and within budget.

Our process includes:

Setup – Identify the issue
Initial consultation, planning the project, agreeing the process and any timescales or budget requirements. Clarify the issues and opportunities. Research what, who, where, when, how and why? Analysis of initial findings to clearly identify and quantify your specific unique requirement.

Concept production – Responding to the issue
We define your objectives, vision, aspirations and add value throughout the concept. We have a very high degree of technical knowledge in-house, and are particularly interested in website theory, emergent web technologies and know how to best apply these to your advantage.

We understand that some websites entail integrated software systems, therefore we have very close working relationships with highly experienced IT consultants, that we sub contract when needed, maintaining that we achieve the right result that works for you.

Concept analysis
Working closely with you, we analyse the concepts giving the project a clear direction, and unique solution. We then define what we have to do to achieve it, and an appropriate plan of action.

Content consultation
With the solution clearly defined, we can assess the requirements of content within the website to achieve the goal. We outline the extent of content production and development, and give added value in best methods of content delivery.

Information architecture
We like intuitive, clear and easy to navigate websites. Having expertise in design, we are highly skilled in how to best arrange and display large amounts of information.

We develop a detailed specification for the website applying ‘User Orientated Design’. We profile key website users, and get inside their thinking and the way in which they would navigate and use the website, allowing us to structure the information in the most effective way.

The specification consists of the ‘Site Plan’ and ‘Functionality Schedule’. The ‘Site Plan’ outlines the structure of the information and pages of the website, and the user’s online journey, through a flow diagram. The ‘Functionality Schedule’ details the full technical specifications of the website.

Visual concept production
Working within the agreed concept, we generate ideas and visuals for key areas of the website; bringing the project to life.

Visual concept development
Working closely with you, we develop the chosen options, producing the final visuals. This allows you to get a clear idea of how the final website would look on your web browser, before any actual production commences.
