I've built or have been a part of building lots of websites. I primarily work in SEO and PPC. So it's important for me to make sure I use a designer that is top-notch, trustworthy, and competent. I've worked with lots of designers over the past few years, across the globe. I have never worked with a designer who is as good as Johanna is, who is as responsive as Johanna is, or is as trustworthy as Johanna is.
I've recommended her services to a variety of people in the different communities I participate in. In my experience with designers I've found that finding a designer who is proven to be excellent at designing many different types of websites, who understands your message, who meets deadlines, and who just has the "wow" factor is extremely difficult. I would not hesitate in saying that Johanna not only meets that criteria, but easily exceeds it as well. In my experience with close to 100 or so designers I can tell you that Johanna is a real gem, hands down, no question about it.
I've known Johanna for a while and I've seen firsthand her amazing web creations. I never had a second thought as to who would design the layouts for our wedding invitations and design & develop our wedding website. I basically gave her a list of pages that needed to be on the website and gave her free reign on how it will look, and I was not disappointed with the end result. She has exceeded all my expectations for the website. I was only expecting a simple site but she added that extra WOW factor to it. I also loved how she designed the website to complement the invitations. It was a nice touch!
I think communication with a client is very important and Johanna did not disappoint in that department either. She is very thorough when she conducts client meetings, makes good suggestions, and always asks for input or consent before going onto the next step. If I needed something added, she would act on it pretty quickly. She was very organized and made her deadline.
Johanna is definitely the go-to person for web design. I will not hesitate hire her again for more work and I constantly recommend her to anyone I know who is interested in having a great website.

Our "Cold War" Canadian fighter-pilot organization "SPAADS" ("Sabre Pilots Association of Air Division Squadrons") holds Reunions every 2nd year across Canada, usually with well over 6-700 attendees. For 2010, our Reunion Committee was faced with the prospect of planning/overseeing a reunion in a small city in the Interior of BC with poor airline connections. Poor turnout would imperil our entire organization!
Accordingly, as Committee Registrar I advocated the need to build a strong website, and took on the onerous task of being its webmaster. Realizing my limitations, I searched the Vancouver (Yaletown) area for a web designer who could "mentor" me, and bring our vision to reality. Johanna Goodyear's earlier work caught my attention; we scheduled a meeting; and have now been working closely together for over 3 months. Our 36-page website has now been up-and-running for 3 weeks. During its first ten days of operation, (and largely due to the impact of this new website), 300 "attendees" from across Canada and the USA completely "booked-out" all of the rooms we had reserved at our main 'venue' resort hotel. Remarkably, we are still 14 months away from our Reunion event in 2010, and the rush to attend continues !
All of this would have been impossible without Johanna Goodyear. While I like to think I wrote most of the text, I now recognize how she 'brightened', re-organized, and clarified everything on the site. She truly has an austute mind for detail, while understanding the broad strategies needed to maximize the overall impact of a website. Add that to the fact that she is incredibly energetic and hard-working, and then note the excellent quality of her design & artistic work on our website.
So in summary, Johanna Goodyear is an outstanding Web Designer. She is perceptive, energetic, highly knowledgeable, and quick. Not only is she fun to work with, but she brings a toughness of mind --- that clearly comes from confidence in her own varied experience and her outstanding ability to write code --- yet always with an eye for pleasing & effective web design. Moreover, her strong photographic background and artistic flair further strengthen her ability to communicate effectively through web design.
