WWDC:

Stream Art Design:
”Anita Wanless, Principal and Graphic Designer”
WWDC:
Describe your company in 5 words.
Stream Art Design:
”Dedicated, effective, creative, experienced, strategic.”
WWDC:
What's your business philosophy?
Stream Art Design:
”Our goal is to provide you with an effective and strategic graphic design solution, no matter what medium you require.”
WWDC:
Describe your office environment.
Stream Art Design:
”Friendly office based in beautiful Tasmania. It has lots of natural light and is a peaceful environment and productive space to work in.”
WWDC:
What makes you different from other web design companies?
Stream Art Design:
”As Principal, I have worked for many years in leading advertising agencies, which attain a high-level of dedication and professionalism. Today, Stream Art Design continues to uphold this tradition and dedication for small-to-medium businesses. We are conscious to uphold the 'bigger picture' strategies and implement these into integrated and effective graphic design solutions.”
WWDC:
How do you get the majority of your business?
Stream Art Design:
”Much of our work is gained via word of mouth, however due to our search engine optimisation, Facebook business page and Google AdWords campaigns, we gain a lot of work via these avenues as well.”
WWDC:
Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.
Stream Art Design:
”As Principal, I always like to meet with the client first - sometimes this is in person, but Skype comes in handy for logistical reasons too. After getting to know the personality of the client's business and staff, I like to provide an accurate quotation for the works involved. The first milestone for web design particularly, is organising what content is required and designing the navigation for it – there are many ways to build a website, so I make sure the solution fits my client's budget. From there, I design the way the website looks and feels, and then we build it. I keep my clients informed at every stage, so there is lots of flexibility and room for developments along the way, that results in an effective, well designed website, that enhances the way our client's do their business.”
WWDC:
What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
Stream Art Design:
”I like to ask a lot of questions and keep my client's up-to-date. I also really like to get to know our client's business – which results in an outcome that is really useful and effective for the client.”
WWDC:
How do you manage demanding clients?
Stream Art Design:
”Good documentation and communication results in effective work. We are just as demanding on ourselves as our client's are. We believe that truly successful businesses and business relationships are because of all the good hard work that is involved.”
WWDC:
If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
Stream Art Design:
”I would recommend that they look at previous projects done by the company and also what their previous client's say about them. Meeting with a representative of that business will give you a good insight into their values and personality – this also helps determine whether you'd like to work with that company and how well you can communicate with its staff as well.”
WWDC:
Where do you see your company in 10 years time?
Stream Art Design:
”As Principal, I would like to keep Stream Art Design as a boutique design shop, but would like to employ additional talented graphic designers and continue to perform award-winning and effective work :-)”
WWDC:
Where do you see the web design industry in the future?
Stream Art Design:
”It's a constantly growing and dynamic world out there and information continues to cross over boundaries with advancements in technology. I don't just see web design changing, but rather an integrated approach with more options in the way we access our information, with the internet merely being a convenient delivery method. We all like to have fun, and new technologies can bring excitement as well as convenience into our lives.”
WWDC:
What computers do you have use in your offices, PCs or Macs?
Stream Art Design:
”Both PC and Mac”
WWDC:
How was your company name chosen?
Stream Art Design:
”Stream Art Design is derived both from 'streamlining' things for our clients – making their life easier – as well as being a play on the 'streaming' of data across the internet.”
WWDC:
If you were to give your clients one tip on how to get the most from their website what would it be?
Stream Art Design:
”Make it useful for your clients and business, and be an enjoyable experience. It should act as a virtual staff member by saving you time, so that by the time your client's make contact with you they are ready to act and buy your products or services.”
