”referral only, from existing clients, and in some cases by those little "site by" links on the bottom of sites”

Describe how you manage projects from the initial client contact to completion and handover.

”go over all needs, work out time line, utilise systems to manage all aspects of communication to enable all parties to see where we are at during the build. Once complete its not just a matter of handover there is then the ongoing support, and implimentation of new release code / opportunities. ”

What do you think is the most crucial element of creating a good client relationship?
Subtle Difference:
”Paying bills is a good start! Seriously though its just a matter of communication so that we know the client, and clients needs over time. That sounds so cliche.
Communication is not always about the work though, most of our clients realise that we are all mad NRL fans, and other common interests allow us to talk like real people with clients instead of just like computers.”

How do you manage demanding clients?
Subtle Difference:
”Some of our demanding clients are also our best clients and the ones we know the most. Being demanding is not particularly an issue, in the short term its typically a lack of knowledge, longer term it just means the clients business is fast paced and a lot of work is required.”

If a client was trying to decide between a shortlist of web design companies, how would you recommend they go about selecting the right one for them?
Subtle Difference:
”If budget orientated, then choose the cheapest (we will never be in that race). Otherwise select a company that has a proven track record in the same or similar industry to your business. In this way they will already have a lot of pre-existing knowledge for your needs which can greatly assist in communication.”

”Manage your content, put aside an average of 1 - 5 hours per week (depends on business type) to grow and improve your site. Its the cheapest form of marketing you have, and the place for first impressions for new clients.”
