Question
Legitimate
I have asked 2hoursites.co.uk to make my web site. I have looked for any reviews but can\'t find any. Is there anyway I can find out how long they have been trading and are they a legitimate company? Thanks

Certainly they look legitimate enough in terms of their client base. However, be very aware that none of those designs could possibly have been completed in their 'same day development' package.
May be worth contacting one of their clients to get feedback on how they conducted themselves during the project.

Hi Paula,
I would have to second Mark Palmer, the portfolio definitely doesn't match the quoted turnaround. And they seem to have some meaty projects in their portfolio for a new firm (although it could be a new name/domain for an older firm).
I would recommend you approach a couple of their previous clients for a reference. If everything is above board, their previous clients will be happy to provide a reference.
Good Luck, I hope it works out well for you.

Hi Paula,
I can only really agree with the other suggestions and the fact that there projects couldn't be completed in that time.
I would like to add that if you would like an alternative quote and proposal please get in touch my details are below.
Thanks

First thing to look at their Domian's 'who is'
http://www.123-reg.co.uk/order?action=whois&page=whois&domain=2hoursites.co.uk
This illustrates their registered date for their site as June 2011. Ideally you would be better dealing with a company that has been trading a bit longer.
second step would be to contact the companies they mention in their portfolio to check the standard of their work and that they have actually delivered a finished project.
third and finally go with your own instincts, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
I would be happy to give you a full and detailed proposal as a comparison for this project.
Please feel free to contact me using the details below.
All the best

Totally agree - their turnaround time looks a bit daft?!
Would be happy to discuss

Don't really see the point of a 2-hour production as a selling plug.
Does any business or person really need a site that quickly - surely not if they've done some forward planning.
And are they able to achieve domain registration and have the site up and running in that time?

I wouldn't place too much important on the WhoIs - it's possible this is an older company trading under a new main on a new domain.
But I agree with pretty much everyone else here when they suggest asking a few clients if you're unsure.

I'd have to agree with Top page here. I did a lookup and was surprised. A lookup on my primary domain on the other hand shows that it was registered in 2007.
Also, I know that if someone wants a website that quickly I could do it but I'd have to ask just how on earth did they get into a position whereby they needed a website THAT quickly...!

Have to agree with everything said above. Also, when checking out a company a good place to look is Companies House (www.companieshouse.gov.uk)
They mention TX Designs in their footer with a registered address but there is nothing showing on Companies House for this name or address.
Judging by their zero page rank on their front page I would say they are new (and many of their clients sites have been launched within the last 3 months)
I wouldn't worry too much about their legitimacy though - just don't pay too much up front. 2 Hour web sites?! Now I've seen everything!

I'd expect the design of a custom web site to go way beyond 2 hours (especially considering client feedback and changes) so I really cant even begin to imagine a 2 hour development time.
I would be very suspicious. I would also want someone to spend some time on my site rather than try to get the whole thing done in just 2 hours!
Best of luck with it
