Question

iPod application.
We are a group of teenagers from The Bulmershe School in Woodley and we're supporting the nationwide campaign within our GCSE citizenship class, to lower the voting age from 18 to 16. In this class, we are required to create our own campaign and find ways to raise awareness and take action. This is where we would appretiate your help.. If you could quote us how much creating the iPod app would be, we'd be very grateful to have your help and advice on this. Thankyou.

Hi Bethany,

You may have a bit more success posting your requirements on a site like Elance.com.

The majority of companies on here will be design companies, or developers for mobile optimised sites, rather than applications programmers.

I'm not saying there won't be companies on here which may be able to offer the services you require, but you would probably get a good range of quotes from Elance.

Developing an app for iPhone, iPod and iPad requires becoming an approved developer by Apple, as it can only be made available through the iTunes app store.

I know for a fact you'll find a load of devs on Elance who are familiar with the process of designing and publishing Apple Apps, as we've used their services before.

Regards,
Duncan

Hi Bethany,

You say iPod, do you mean an iPad or iPhone app?
Could you give a bit more description to it...
we could then look into it and give you the best quote possible.

Cheers

Hi Bethany,

Thanks for your question.

First things first I’m going to guess you mean an iPhone app?

I'd like to offer you my advice and say that this would be an expensive proposition for a project of this sort and suggest that you could achieve alot more for your money going down the standard website site route, don’t forget that any good site developed now will be mobile optimized and therefore still accessable from your iPhone or any other mobile device.

I hope this helps you and of course would be happy to quote for a site (got to get a plug in somewhere!)

Good Luck
