Hi Laura,
First off I'll just explain what the domains and hosting are: Domains is the URL to a website e.g. Comp-tek.co.uk and would hopefully e the name of your business followed by an extension such as .co.uk .com .org etc. a domain is unique to a website and a website can have more than one domain, so if you wanted yourcompany.com and yourcompany.co.uk that's fine and there is no maximum limit. Think of a domain name as a phone number to a website - its a way of accessing/viewing the content of the website.
Hosting is basically where the website files are stored to allow people all around the world to view your website. Your website is made up of many files from code pages, CSS and image files and more, all this makes the website what you see and needs to be stored somewhere for people to access which is called hosting - this is basically renting server facilities in a secure data centre with multiple connections to the Internet to keep your website up and running.
Comp Tek offer a full service and are flexible to our clients needs, we can give anything from partial support if the user wishes to maintain their site themselves to full maintenance service where we do all the website aide of your business leaving you to worry about other parts of your business.
We have standard website packages starting at £95 and we also offer bespoke solutions. We have completed many projects from basic content sites and sites with event management and booking solutions to full blown e-commerce solutions.
We also have our own Hosting solutions that are tailored to the users requirements along with the ability to provide Domains direct both of which is something that some designers use third parties for - having our own allows us to offer the best price and service.
If you would like more information or would like to discuss your requirements further and allow me to supply you a free quotation and concept designs then please feel free to get in touch and I'll be happy to send you an information pack and discuss your requirements further.
Many Thanks

Hi Laura
Get the right content management system (and a web partner that provides full support for the system) and you can get back to worrying just about the content of your site and your business and leave the web site technology to look after itself.
Here are ten reasons to adopt a content management system (CMS).
1. New pages can be added and existing pages can be edited instantly
2. No html skills are required to update pages
3. No "web design" fees are incurred in editing/creating pages so small changes can be made frequently to keep site topical and synchronised with marketing programmes
4. Adding and updating pages improves search engine rankings
5. No limit (apart from hosting limits) on the number of pages you can have on a site
6. New businesses can modify a web site to reflect rapid changes in marketing messages that frequently occur in the early months of trading
7. Additional functionality can be added quickly and cost effectively by extending the core CMS engine
8. Access to pages and files for download can be controlled
9. Image handling allows raw pictures to be uploaded and automatically processed for display
10. Separation of text from web code and formatting enables content easily to be repurposed
If you need more details on CMS you can get them here... http://accentikainternet.co.uk/web-design/what-is-content-management.html or contact me for more information.
Thank you.

Hi Laura
I'm not sure if you've found your answer by now, but thought I'd reply anyway.
XCEL specialises in small businesses and this is reflected in our prices as well which are negotiable depending on the size of your business.
Our main strength however is getting websites found prominently on search engines such as Google, and we have done this for clients for a number of years now (4 to be more precise).
We can design your website and have it completed within a few days; and typically, our sites have been found by Google within a few weeks and ranked at the top for generic search terms.
For example, one of our websites came to the top within 6 months for a very generic, national search term; but when we had another business struggling to attract visitors, we put them on the top for more local search terms as well.
Our own computer repair business also comes to the top of Google for many search terms.
As part of the service, we also manage the domain registration and offer FREE hosting for one year to all our customers, and even show them how to get the best out of their visitor reports to target traffic to their website.
We can discuss your website via Skype or on the phone, or we're quite happy to visit you if its practical. To get examples of website's we have put on Google, please call us on 0800 4 969 969 and ask to speak to me directly.
Thanks

Hi Laura
The reason that you are getting many and varied responses is because you have not specified much about your business and it’s actual website needs.
The more info you put down the better the quality of replies that you should get. I’m not talking about a detailed brief but tell us which business sector you are in and what you want your site to achieve for you, as a starting point. Otherwise you get advice that may not be relevant.
